Desert Island IV Album Game: Round 2, Match 6

Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the sixth match of the second round of the Interference Desert Island Game IV! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

For every win, each player will receive three points. If there is a tie, each player gets two points. If a player loses a match but is within three votes of the winner, that player will earn a single point.

At the beginning of each round, I will include the updated standings. Remember, the top two from each group moves on to the quarterfinals.

Screwtape2 won his first match of the tournament, beating phillyfan26 in Round 2's second match, 12-9. phillyfan26 still picks up an important point for finishing within three votes.

The sixth match of Round 2 has major_panic competing against the debut of the tourist. Below are their playlists.

If you don't know the songs, or wish to hear how each tracklisting flows, feel free to check out the Desert Island website.

DREAMING

This tracklist is, quite simply, about a dream about a girl. However, as dreams often go, it is fragmented and yet coherent, questionable and yet sensible. It doesn't always make sense, but neither do dreams. The question is, is it a dream, or is it a nightmare?

The opening act, Dream, is the first part of the dream: drifting off to sleep, and awaking in an unfamiliar landscape. The second act, Loss, acts as an interlude where the girl is somehow spirited away, when the dream turns to a nightmare. The final act, Regret, deals with the loss and grief.

While I didn't think the "Soda" part was as good, I really enjoyed the other two.

the tourist gets my vote

Hmm, I think that Tourist has put together the better list, but I found myself enjoying major_panic's slightly more.

Cantina Band ftw

I liked Earth from Tourist's playlist. I wasn't that fond of Soda and Shoes.

Major_Panic gets my vote for creating a very unique playlist. I overall prefered its quirkiness more than Tourist's playlist.

Good luck to you both.

Yes. You see, I noticed what happened to LJT when he introduced people to music.
