This is another tough one -- I liked phanan's very well, but I'm listening to LemonMelon's again and it's got a lot of great upbeat poppy tunes. Gonna have to think on this one.

Just finished listening to Phanan's and I have to say I really liked it, the song choices were really well done and I preferred it slightly to LemonMelon's...I think...Group 4 is so tough

It's like the NBA Western Conference.

Okay, this one was really tough.

I really enjoyed LM's playlist, some great songs that I absolutely love, and bonus points for having Pulp. It's also pretty cool how he laid out the whole concept, good work.

However, I just finished listening to Phanan's and I'm absolutely in love with it, I think it might be one of my all-time favourites, so I'll have to go with him.

phanan

He has some really, really good tunes:

Quote:
1. Queen – “Innuendo” – Innuendo (6:28)
2. Muse – “New Born” – Origin Of Symmetry (6:02)
4. Semisonic – “If I Run” – Across The Great Divide (4:17)
1. Chemical Brothers – “Block Rockin’ Beats” – Dig Your Own Hole (5:00)
7. LCD Soundsystem – “All My Friends” – Sound Of Silver (7:37)
12. Aimee Mann – “Stupid Thing” – Whatever (4:27)
13. Blur – “To The End” – Parklife (3:51)
And although people commented that my playlist could have had a concept I'm not sure how necessary that really is. I doubt it would have made people like the songs/order anymore. I like that he lets the music speak for itself. Music

It's been brought to my attention that there is an error with my playlist. The length of time I have for the God Is An Astronaut track is wrong. The correct time is longer, and therefore puts me over 160 minutes.

Obviously, while trying to run the tournament as best I can, I screwed up with my own listing. Rest assured, this was not done on purpose.

If people wish, I can revise the playlist by removing one song so that it is in line with the rules. It seems to me that by simply removing Prince, the transition would still work well from My Bloody Valentine to God Is An Astronaut, so if forced to remove one song, it would be The Cross.

My apologies for this.

It takes time. It takes effort. It gives the music context. Therefore, having one is always preferable, though it doesn't matter much if the songs aren't to your taste.

It's no trouble. But yeah, one track isn't a big deal to me or anything. Just best to keep this within the rules if at all possible.

These lists are very close to tied for me. They're both excellent -- two of the better lists in the contest. If there was a voting choice for "tie" I'd choose it.

I'm voting LemonMelon because he's behind, and don't people get points if they're within three?

Anyway, lots of good new music in both of these lists for me. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to Khan's vote, I'm basically screwed. But thanks for the vote.

I agree. I already mentioned that I felt a bit bad that I didn't have the time to make one. While I love seeing all the different concepts they haven't impacted my choice when voting, so far.

Just so everyone knows, I was going to start Round 2 today, but I figured I'd give everyone an extra day to finish off the playlists. Then, starting tomorrow, we're doing four matches a day. This week's schedule will be:

Tuesday - Round 2, Matches 1-4
Wednesday - Round 2, Matches 5-8
Thursday - Round 3, Matches 1-4
Friday - Round 3, Matches 5-8

So be ready...
