Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the third heat of the second round of the Interference Desert Island Game III! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

Current standings will be displayed in the Heat 4 thread of Round 2.

AtomicBono and Bonos_Lemon go at it in Heat 3. Below are the tracklistings.

If you don't know the songs, or wish to hear how each tracklisting flows, leave your e-mail address and we'll help you out. :)

To encompass the variety of music I listen to, I decided to go with two distinct moods for this playlist. The songs on the first disc, Disorder, are generally aggressive and urgent, cutting to the bone. This was the list for the generally faster, harder music I listen to. The awesome assault of "Spanish Castle Magic" sets the tone (note how it doesn't sound at all dated next to a Rage Against the Machine track). The more dreamy closer of "On & On" provides a perfect segue into the second disc, . ..Into a Dream, which is a much more mellow, atmospheric collection. "A Different Kind of Blue" was used to introduce the disc as such, and I couldn't imagine "A Day In The Life" anywhere on the list except as the last track. Ultimately, I tried to pick songs that went together well but were also some of my favourites. Despite the diversity of the list, I wanted it to feel like one cohesive collection. My hope is that people will listen to this and see that, and maybe check out some artists they wouldn't have otherwise.

Are Euphoria?

I approached this playlist with no real idea for
theme, I merely picked some of my favorite songs by
many of my favorite artists and made them flow. As I
was looking for an image to define my playlist, I
realized why these particular songs were my favorites;
they stir something inside me and this entire
arrangement is a drool worthy euphoric experience for
my ears. Many of my selections, I noticed, are songs
that begin slowly, building into something grand and I
feel that this image presents both the mellow and
energetic aspects of my playlist. So as you listen to
these songs I ask, are euphoria?

Both playlists have great ideas going and interesting structures. I adore what Bono's Lemon was attempting as well as what AtomicBono was doing. To me it came down to the concepts and flow. AtomicBono did a fanastic job in both departments. Bono's Lemon was the same way. Both were daring. AtomicBono was just a little better at those two. She has my vote.

You both did a wonderful job and I appreciate your daring. Good luck through the rest of the game.

Can I just flip a coin?

I loved parts of both of these lists and some parts just fell through for me, so it's really hard to decide.

We're tied, I knew this would be a close match!

yeah, like we said before ours rock too much for interference

good luck, as you know i really enjoyed your playlist  the Thrice song is fuckin tight and the Klaxons song was cool too, and those were two bands I probably wouldn't have checked out otherwise. and of course I knew a lot of the bands/songs on the list and theyre awesome, and it flowed well for such a diverse list.

also your album cover is baller. I wish it were larger though. that's a cool image imo

After re-listening to them both, I think Atomic's mood/flow was better for me than Bono's_Lemon's, since my like/dislike of the songs were about the same.

Good lists for both though, especially on the "being exposed to new shit" meter.
