Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the eighth and final heat of the first round of the Interference Desert Island Game III! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

KhanadaRhodes edged past LJT in Heat 6, 14-11. However, because the difference in votes was under 4, LJT still earns a point. Our current standings are as follows:

"A Nuclear Show"

I don't expect that there will be too much here that's unfamiliar to many. Disc
A is a combination of a few moments of near perfect pop, a handful of songs of
personal significance and a touch of melancholic rock, all collected between two
of the most wonderfully beautiful songs I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.
Disc B is more electronic and generally a bit darker. Some of the songs above
are my absolute favourites; others, I've just been enjoying of late. Either way,
I hope you find something - new or old – that’s worth your time.

Disc A:
1. Sigur Rós - "Glósóli" - Takk... (6:15)

Competition master list.

Have fun!

Yeah, this is hard. I love Lila's use of some good oldies - rock and roll, baby! That's what I'm talkin' about!

But I really enjoyed edge's mix, too. I liked the use of the Mono, Springsteen and Nick Cave/Kylie Minogue tracks.

I think I have to go with Lila.

edge2125 -- it's another of the top contenders for me. I ranked most of the songs very high. The new stuff (for me) that I liked a lot include Khaled, Muse (still getting to know that band) and Mono.

Lila has a great list as well. Love that Smokey Robinson tune and there's lots of great oldies in this list. Wish I could vote for both lists!

Damn, this one is tough. I went with Lila because of how great the second half of her set was. Plus, Til The End Of The Day.

Alright, edge's list took me by surprise. I was familiar with some of the songs, but I loved how it was put together and the two Lost in Translation tracks. It's one I can see myself listening to again.

Now Lila's is great. I had tons of fun listening to it, and now don't confuse Dusty Springfield, Buffalo Springfield, and/or Rick Springfield. It's easily the happiest playlist in the entire tourney, which should count for something... my vote.

edge, I'm voting for your shiz in other rounds though. You can count on that.

The Battle of The Odd U2 B-Side Selections.

I wasn’t exactly wowed by either playlist in terms of experience. They are both a little too greatest hits as well. That sort of takes away from the playlists as I’ve heard some of them so much that they are almost instant skips. In the end, I went with Edge_2125 because of Come Undone, Marooned and Moses. You both made playlists you can be proud of.

Good luck through the rest of the game!

I went with edge_2125 cos I think I relate to his/her list a bit more, even though there are some really great songs on Lila's list too. Props for including Khaled! Do you like Didi?

Well, after listening again today, I'm voting for Lila. I enjoyed how a lot of older classics were represented on her list, which made it a unique listening experience for me.

It was hard, though. Edge's playlist has some real good ones on there that I like a lot. It will most likely get my vote at some point.

Kind of cool that I can still give a list my vote at some point, even if I don't right now. Because that's certainly been the case with a lot of these heats.

This was close and I could have gone either way. I hope my vote for edge_2125 salvages a bonus point. Ultimately, although I think edge_2125's tracklist order could have been really improved at some points, ending with Bittersweet Symphony was a really nice touch. I think Lila actually had more of my favourite songs, but I feel edge_2125 had a bit more in consistency and a bit less that I seriously dislike.

I feel really bad voting against a tracklist with gems like I Got You, Spanish Eyes, and Forgotten Years, though. Those are probably the three best tracks of the heat, though edge_2125 has the better Crowded House track.
