Repechage Match 4 of 4

Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.
Welcome to the final match of the repechages in the Interference Desert Island Game II! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.
In the repechages, the contestants have one last to chance survive and advance into the tournament. Axver and IMP13 have advanced.

This round features tracklistings by MacPhistoPT , Adrball and Phanan. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address.

Reminder for contestants: if there was an error on your tracklisting on the master list thread, let me know before your qualifying round so I can post the correct tracklist!

From about the age of 8 I started to play the clarinet and Piano and got pretty good at both until I discovering 'other things'. The exams involved playing and listening to classical music and it's from here that I developed a respect for live performing when done well.

I hate manufactured crap (particularly from the 80s/90s) - the stuff that can't be reproduced live without it sounding karaoke. People who can play instruments get my respect. Others like Spice Girls, Westlife and Take That just annoy me. So you can tell why my love for U2 developed.

The tracklisting can be split into three groups - Classical, Bands, Non-Bands. There's quite a chunk of Non-Band tracks in here - for songs that wouldn't normally pass my 'respect test but do pass my 'whistle test' (Eg Modjo, Natalie Imbruglia, Pink), or represent events in my life.

UP NEXT: The play-in game between DazzinglyAmy and FitzChivalry.

Competition master list.
Competition rules.

Phanan's tracklisting is awesome. I hope he goes through to the next round.

And I honestly don't see the point in this play-in game. Those two have already competed and tied. Why aren't we doing a three-way heat? I thought that was the original decision and now I come back to find we're just repeating the qualifying round.

:hmm: I'm gonna have to think about this for awhile, I like Ardball's but I also like MacPhistoPT's, and I never got a chance to listen to Phanan's so I'll have to do that as well

number one choice lost me with high hopes & Neil Young
number two : Pink .............................

Phanan's list is superb

And is there something wrong with being gay??? :eyebrow:

Absolutely not! It was a quote to follow LMP's "fo show", both of which are from 40 Year Old Virgin. We were both quoting lines back & forth from that movie several weeks/months ago.

Please do not take any offense. My apologies :reject:

No offense taken. NO worries. I've read your posts in Free Your Mind, I know you weren't being offensive.

Besides, you're my Genesis buddy and you're keeping me updated on tickets for the Hollywood Bowl.

Presale for Amex card holders began today. I just can't see paying all sorts of $$$ for tix. The cheapest are $57 (before fees) and that's section R

\end rant-back on topic

Hey Axver, are you okay with the seeding? If so, can I post it now?

Just read it now. It works for me, so go ahead. :)

Can you answer this, though? From my first post on the thread:

As you are running it now, the final say rests with you. I've never been fond of three person matches but whatever.

I'm not so keen on three-way matches either, but it seems to me to be the fairest resolution. I initially was all for the play-in game idea, forgetting that it was just a repeat of the qualifying round.

What I am actually tempted to do is run the play-in round as a three-way clash and have the proper heat between the two who do the best.

What does everyone think about that?

So the tournament seeding is in

That could be interesting. I like that idea.

I would like to know what Amy, Fitz, and U2VertigoFly think first, as they are the contestants most directly affected.
