Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the eighth and final heat of the Interference Desert Island Album Game! The premise of this game is that the Interference forum has been stranded on a desert island and we can take only TWO CDs of up to 80 minutes of music each. The object is to see which member of the forum can fit the most musical goodness onto these two CDs.

The last of the heats featured the highest margin of victory this competition is likely to see, with BonoIsMyMuse defeating MacPhistoPT 35 votes to 4. This means BonoIsMyMuse progresses to a quarter final against LemonMacPhisto.

This first quarter final features the notable three-way clash that resulted from the tied result of the second heat. In this quarter final, inmyplace13, LJT, and MrBrau1 are all competing for a place in the first semi final. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address. This poll will be open for TWO DAYS.

Competition master list.

See an image of the competition's format (updated to reflect the quarter final contestants).

The competition rules.

LJT. His inclusions of The Verve's A New Decade and Delays' Wanderlust are what made all the difference.

I'll stand by what I said last week. I think MrBrau is the one to beat for the rest of the competition. A lot of diversity, and a lot of gutsy transitions (Willie Nelson to Bob Marley looks so wrong, for instance, but it's seamless). A great mix, and one I think it would take me awhile to get tired of.

Incidentally, Axver, I added you as a friend over at Live Journal :)

I decided to go with Mr. Brau. All three are great, but Brau's had too much variety and too many songs I love to pass up, even with the inclusion of Crackling Rosie and Only the Good Die Young. I hope earplugs are an option to take with us for the desert island so I can put them in when those two songs are played.

tough decision. the imp's tracklisting has the most songs that I love, but brau and LJT have a little more diversity. must ponder.

btw...I'll be out of town for my quarterfinal, so uh, if anyone wants to vote for me with their alter or something that'd be cool.

the exact same thing here.

I'm leaning towards Imp's right now, but i'll need to listen to the others'.

Had to go with MrBrau's list. Diverse.

inmyplace didn't even have a U2 song, but had some of my other faves (Lennon, Beatles), but wasn't enough to sway my vote.

MrBrau! Gotta love the classics:up:

Sorry! inmyplace13,the same reason why i did not vote for you before.......not even one U2 song was on your tracklist.......Goodluck!

LJT....you had "love is blindness"....*you were this close to getting my vote*...........i love your tracklist, your inclusion of NIN,The rolling stones,David Bowie The Verve and U2's OOTS!
You had me.... but then...... Bjork.........man,anyone but her! Nevermind..............Goodluck!

What is wrong with Bjork?:eyebrow:

Classics fans will go with MrBrau, newer music fans with Imp, with little old me inbetween losing out:sad:

What will be, will be:p

I had to go with LJT for the following reasons:

Bjork - "Hyper-Ballad"
Manic Street Preachers - "If White America Told the Truth For One Day, Its World Would Fall Apart"
Prince - "When Doves Cry"
Ryan Adams - "Wonderwall"
Radiohead - "Exit Music (For a Film)"
The Secret Machines - "Now Here is Nowhere"

Thievery Corporation - "Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes"
Hope of the States - "Black Dollar Bills"
U2 - "Love Is Blindness"

Seriously, those are some excellent choices. Bonus points for including my favoritest U2 song ever. That Ryan Adams cover is also fantastic, and I must give props for Thievery Corp., Manics, and Hope of the States.

I would laugh if we got another tie.

After much deliberation, my vote went to Impy, I just liked the cohesiveness of the tracks and the tracks individually very much.

Brau's and LJT's were good too, just not all of my taste.

although imp was a close second. maybe it's just me, but i know this is a U2 forum but i don't care that there's no U2 in his compilation

Yeah, I mean, this is being held in B&C, not EYKIW, and there's no rule that says "thou shalt include U2 or face grave peril".

If I were voting solely based on what bands aren't there ... well, only one other person included more than two bands in my personal ten favourites!

I shall send a rose to everyone who votes for me;)

Oh Imp and Brau both secretly hate everyone on Interference, hence vote for me, the nice guy:wink:

(Actually, I just checked, and namkcuR had three of my ten favourites in his tracklisting.)

If you put me on an island, where all we have to listen to for the rest of our lives is male, white, Alternative/Indie rock I'm going to kill and eat every last one of you.

I love a lot of indie music, but I agree it wouldn't have a lot of staying power. Please don't eat me! :help:
