Sounds good to me.

I did say U2VF could have the full title in the closing D2 thread, but I guess no one listened to me. Oh well...

I raise my glass to that! That's my philosophy in this. Plus, I used to love making a good mix tape/CD for my friends, but I haven't done one in a while. I miss making 'em.

I don't know those bands Atomic Bono

I'm all for the extension. I have Maddy's birthday party to deal with this coming week, a concert, and tons of work. Hopefully most of the songs I want are already on my computer

And no, I'm not expecting to do well, just have some fun!

chevelle and breaking benjamin are nu-metal basically, big on alternative stations. Alien Ant Farm did a cover of Smooth Criminal and sadly that's all they're known for, when they really did some brilliant stuff...they had a 2006 album but they're pretty much broken up now. The Fall of Troy is like crazy kinda prog metal rock screamo. they're not well-known

Corianderstem and AtomicBono are completely right, it's all about exposing people to new music / your favorite stuff.

Basically make the best mixtape you possibly can.

If you want obscure, go for my tracklist.

Has ANYONE here heard of Sneaky Feelings, Pop Art Toasters, Swingers, Able Tasmans, Chroma Key, The Bats, The Clean, The Verlaines, or Sörskogen?

I didn't think so.

It's neat to see all of the new people in this game.

It is interesting to see that only 8 people from the last game are signed up.

I've heard of The Bats!

I think. Maybe. I might just be confused.

Even though I wasn't participating before, I enjoyed downloading everyone's mixes and checking things out. I ended up saying "Nope, that band is not for me" a lot, but it was still cool to hear bands I'd never heard before. And to finally hear some of what Axver's always going on about.

I recall the Swingers, but it's been 20+ years, LOL.

Gee, I will expose nothing to no one I'm sure.
So what!

So for example, if I pick a Beatles song, I can still pick a solo song from John, Paul, George and or Ringo, right?

I imagine that there's a good chance it's a different Bats.

The Bats were one of the main Dunedin Sound bands, despite being from Christchurch. Their album Daddy's Highway is a classic of New Zealand music.

Let me guess, Counting The Beat? Definitely the best Kiwi one-hit wonder. (I refuse to acknowledge Split Enz as a one-hit wonder. Just because the US didn't take to them ...!)

In any case, Counting The Beat is what I'm using, as it's the only Swingers song I've got, though I know a few others.

LA DA DEE DA! LA DA DEE DA! LA DA DEE DA! LA DA DEE DA!

Eloquent, Phil Judd, eloquent.

Go nuts. I feel my tracklist is a little overloaded with Finnage, but when you're focusing on Kiwi music ...
