Desert Island Album Game II: Heat 1

Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the first round of the main stage of the Interference Desert Island Game II! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

We began the tournament with 24 contestants, 11 of whom reached the main stage of the tournament via winning qualifying rounds. 11 of the others lost and received one last chance via a series of repechages, and four made it through to the tournament proper. This left 2 contestants, dazzlingamy and FitzChivalry, who drew their qualifying round and thus both qualified for the heats. As only one place remained, a play-in round was held to break the tie, and in another close round, a result was achieved: Fitz won 15 to 13 and thus eliminated Amy. And now we begin the heats themselves, with the winner of each heat proceeding to the quarter finals. But in a dramatic twist, the 12 contestants who have been eliminated will compete instead of our 12 victors! ... but only in a non-existent fantasyland. Yeah, it's April Fools' Day and I normally ignore it, but I figured I'd do something this year to see if anyone bothers to read the intros.

So, as per the plan, this round features playlists by GibsonGirl and bono_212. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address.

Well, this one's easy. GibsonGirl's tracklisting is probably my favourite in the tournament besides my own, so I didn't even hesitate in casting my vote for her.

GibsonGirl's list is likewise one of my favourites in the tournament as well, hence the vote

Can't beat some Muse, Smiths and DeVotchKa

GG. That's a great mix. I think it would stand the test of time for me a lot better than bono_212's.

It is all luck of the draw so I guess take this as incentive for next time, bono_212. The next match for example features two of the best playlists in my opinion and I'd rather not see one go so quickly but it's all luck of the draw.

Eh, I'd never done this before, I'm not really that upset, I knew my play list didn't stand a chance, I was surprised it made it through the first time, I like some pretty strange music, So, there's no shock here

I voted for bono_212. I really liked both tracklists, it was a difficult choice. Both tracklists had one of my current favorite songs (Paint It Black and Read My Mind) so it was difficult.

There are quite a few songs I like on bono_212's list, but there are also quite a few I strongly dislike.

GG's list, however, is very strong all the way through. One of the best.

I could've voted for either one really (fortunately I got in after the poll was closed), but my vote would've gone to bono_212's... Looking forward to seeing the next playlist
