Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the eighth and final heat of the Interference Desert Island Album Game! The premise of this game is that the Interference forum has been stranded on a desert island and we can take only TWO CDs of up to 80 minutes of music each. The object is to see which member of the forum can fit the most musical goodness onto these two CDs.

In the previous round, LemonMacPhisto defeated hippy by 24 votes to 16. This means that LemonMacPhisto progresses to the quarter finals!

In this round, tracklistings made by BonoIsMyMuse and MacPhistoPT face off against each other. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address. This poll will be open for TWO DAYS.

THE TRACKLISTINGS!

Forum name: BonoIsMyMuse

BonoIsMyMuse writes: I think my first and second discs contrast each other well in both style and theme. The first disc is made up of mostly slow songs, many of which could easily be labeled "depressing." Instead, I'd look at this disc as the first half of a journey; they're songs about being stuck in one way or another, about losing something, or about wanting something and not knowing how to get it. Disc 2, I hope, moves away from that mindset. The songs are more upbeat, and thematically they center around departure, not in a bleak sense but more in a sense of moving on and looking forward. While many don't necessarily offer a "happy ending," I think they do offer a sense of hope.

As with most compilations I make, I was very careful with the ordering of the tracks here. I worked hard to make sure each song flows well into the next. Because of that, the songs are best enjoyed in the order they appear, and not shuffled.

BonoIsMyMuse all the way, tons of artists I like

plus, that tracklisting proves diversity isn't just a wooden ship from the Civil War era.

MacPhistoPT...

he/she just cut the crap and play rock and roll....

too many fillers in the other one...

^ Yep, The Killers was the only misstep in that compilation. Everything else is fabulous.

The other compilation is full of stuff I listened to in middle school. Not that it's horrible, but I've outgrown it, that's for sure.

MacPhistoPT

Rock

Metallica
Alice In Chains
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
U2
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Queen
Springsteen

The only artists on there that I'm either not a fan of or don't know much about are Iron Maiden and Tool.

BonoIsMyMuse all the way.

VU
Pixies
REM
The Clash
Talking Heads
U2
Arcade Fire

Some of my all-time favorites right there.

The other list looks decent too, but it's a little too unimaginative and lacks diversity. If I was on a desert island, I'd like to be able to listen to music from beyond the grunge era.

OK, so BonoIsMyMuse's tracklisting is clearly better, but ...

Up the fucking Irons!

do I get a prize for getting the most votes so far?

I know I'd better enjoy them know, because LMP is going to be a tough opponent. I'd better get my game face ready!

:bump:

BonoIsMyMuse, your tracklisting is pretty sweet, our round should be close.
