Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the sixth round of the Interference Desert Island Album Game! The premise of this game is that the Interference forum has been stranded on a desert island and we can take only TWO CDs of up to 80 minutes of music each. The object is to see which member of the forum can fit the most musical goodness onto these two CDs.

In the last round, Souly received 28 votes to liamcool's 5, meaning that Souly progresses to the quarter finals!

In this round, tracklistings made by Bono's shades and Eliv8 face off against each other. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address. This poll will be open for TWO DAYS.

The competition rules.

Am I the only person amused by the fact that the two people who founded this competition were both well and truly flogged in the heats?

I think this round should be close, though. I'm not sure which I will go with, though probably Bono's shades by virtue of One Tree Hill (however, the inclusion of One is really putting me off, and there's a bit too much Springsteen for my tastes).

love bono shades opening 2 tracks
1. The Clash - “London Calling” - London Calling (3:23)
2. U2 - “Sunday Bloody Sunday” - War (4:38)

very rough.

Wow, this is a really tough choice for me since they both have songs I really like/are both solid playlists.

But Eliv8's 2nd disc is near flawless and barely swayed my vote

and holy crap my heat's next :hyper:

Gotta vote for this list, expecially with: U2, Elvis Costello, Midnight Oil, Bruce, White Stripes, Peter Gabriel, Led Zep, Beatles (although I wouldn't have chose those Beatles songs...)...

I tried 4 times to d/l my disks but it wouldnt work. Followed the instructions to a t too. Shame coz they do flow well.
GL to Bono's Shades. You almost got my vote.

This round and the next one will be quite close, I think. I don't have my mind made up about either one. I like the variety of both of these mixes, but right now I'm leaning toward Eliv8 a) because I like the Night/Day concept, and b) I loathe Pride and think its inclusion right after Streets is U2 overkill. But Bono's shades' first disc has a really strong opening four songs.

I think I need a little more time to decide.

Nice lists. You both get huge points for including lots of music that ISN'T from the past 10 years.

Plus, the classic R&B/Soul/Funk

Otis Redding
Stevie Wonder
Jackie Wilson
Marvin Gaye
Curtis Mayfield

How could you be on an island and never hear this stuff again?

But Elvi8 gets my vote.

The thought of being on a desert island and never again hearing a female voice in song seems to scare him as much as it scares me.

I have to say this vote required more thought, I went for Bono's Shades due to "Freddie's Dead" & "Atlantic City" & "THere is A Light...."

however, as much as I like most of the artists on the list I'm disappointed that the songs are a bit too radio friendly/popular meaning I've heard them many times over, so it's nothing too exciting.

[I most likely didnt vote for Eliv8's cause Marley & Stewart make me cringe:yikes:]

Bob Marley makes you cringe?:eyebrow:

Sorry I just find that a bit incomprehensible...Rod I can understand, Bob no:wink:

I voted for Eliv8, namely because he had actual female singers, plus Bowie and Thin Lizzy.

I agree with elevation2u though in that most of those songs I have already heard countless times before on the radio or elsewhere and it would be likely I would grow quite tired of them if stuck on an island leading me to start knocking off a few people:p

This one's hard, but I have to go with Eliv8. Stevie Wonder! Whiskey in the Jar! Martha Reeves! Band on the Run!

Bono's Shades mix has a lot that I love on it too, but maybe too much U2 and Bruce for a mix competition, you know? (That was so hard for me to say - I love lots of U2 and lots of Bruce.)

This was a tough choice - the inclusion of Smiths tracks on a list would normally sway me, however, I went with Eliv8's track listing.

Bono's Shades listing had some excellent choices (Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder and the Eleanor Rigby track for example). However, I felt Eliv8's was more diverse, plus like some of the comments above, I felt that Bono's Shades track listing needed more female vocalists - at least to get my vote anyway.

I've never been much of a fan...and then when I went to college in what is known simply for it's uhh... canabis..this is all I heard, no joke! That and The Beatles...I'm not a fan of people blasting their music, especially when all they played was Marley 24/7....I would have to go to sleep listening to this and wake up to it.:grumpy:

I suppose that could put you off....but still it's Bob..I love my Bob:wink:

Sorry the next round is late, I've been busy studying and honestly forgot today was the day for a new round.

I'm making the new one now!

Wow, I didn't think I stood a chance against Eliv8's excellent tracklisting!

Thanks & congratulations.

Ty too for all who voted for my disks. I'll snail mail them to anyone who would like copies. (Unless you voted for Bono's shades)
