Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the second round of the Interference Desert Island Album Game! The premise of this game is that the Interference forum has been stranded on a desert island and we can take only TWO CDs of up to 80 minutes of music each. The object is to see which member of the forum can fit the most musical goodness onto these two CDs.

In the last round, MrBrau1 and LJT both received 20 votes, meaning that BOTH will progress to a 3-way quarter final against inmyplace13! This will be our procedure for all future draws excluding the final: both contestants will progress to the next round, as this isn't a competition that necessitates a sole victor or only a two-way clash. The final will be re-opened as it must have an outright victor.

In this round, tracklistings made by pepokiss and VertigoGal face off against each other. Below, you will find their tracklistings. If you are unfamiliar with the songs included, we can help you hear them! Just leave your e-mail address. This poll will be open for TWO DAYS.

Hallelujah a new round...finally I can sleep...wise decision voting for yourself darlin;)

I'll save my vote for a wee while yet, gotta check out some of the stuff on both lists:up:

How bizarre, both albums have The Great Gig In The Sky as the second-last song of disc 1.

I find this especially bizarre because I've never before known anyone who even found that song listenable.

VertigoGal said:
^yeah I'm sure you've mentioned that before. :eyebrow:

same placement though, it is intriguing to say the least. :shifty:

In the master list thread, I think I said I was surprised that two tracklistings included TGGITS, but I didn't realise they were not only in the same round, but at the same placement!

VertigoGal said:
I actually meant the "listenable" part, but to each their own etc etc...

Just be thankful you're both in the same round, as it negates my principle of voting against whoever uses TGGITS.

Before anyone takes me seriously, I wouldn't vote based on just one song. Or would I? :shifty:

Well you didnt vote against me and I had a Prince song whom you oh so love to loathe:p

But you also had Wanderlust and A New Decade.

Does anyone need the permanent link?

Both pepokiss' and VertigoGal's projects are posted :)

perhaps Axver could list the link to the site with the downloads in his first post? Saves me going back thru the forum to find it :shifty:

there's a small problem with the forum rules when we do that :(

I could send it to you again and you could bookmark it...

Have a look at the master list. All of the links were removed; we can't post them. :(

So it will be interesting to see how my next match pans out now. I'm sure it will be a really close round because votes will be distributed all over the place.

no, I know about the rules and the links removed. I thought perhaps you could post a link to hippy's site. I should have the PM saved - no worries. I'm voting :shifty:

I have a kind of an idea how it will pan out, unfortunately my idea involves me losing:wink:

I voted VertigoGal. It's a nice mix, but I also couldn't vote for a mix featuring Bon Jovi and still be able to sleep tonight , so that made the choice a fairly easy one for me.

What the hell are you babbling about? Great Gig In The Sky is brilliant! Everyone I know that has listened to DSOTM loves that song.

I voted for VG's listing because I like her choices better overall. Although... Pepokiss's choice of Metallica's Turn The Page is excellent!

The Great Gig in the Sky has one of the greatest vocal solos ever, and sounds almost angelic.

To me atleast.

My vote goes to VertigoGal, the songs are mostly my style, and 3535646 awesome points for having Soul to Squeeze. Also, for the same reason BonoIsMyMuse said, I hate Bon Jovi with a fiery passion.

Reactions from people I know:

"This sounds like three cats being strangled."
"What is this crap?"
"Pink Floyd should never ever employ female vocalists, it just ruins everything."
"Nails on a chalkboard."
"I got a headache from that bloody awful wailing."

I agree with every single one of those comments.

Most "Floyd fans" I know are Dark Side of the Wallers

I call them that because they buy the DSOTM shirts to look cool, and have asked me which one is Pink.

It's ridiculous, if you want to pose, do it with The Ramones.

Tell your friends there's a great big world of music out there beyond white rock music.

all this talk has inspired me to put the song on. and now my dad's doing his impression of the song (he knows each wail by heart ;) )...talk about bloody awful wailing. :lmao:

he used to be big into skydiving..now he's telling me the whole song is really about skydiving, nothing else. "great gig in the sky" haha

I always think of the part in School of Rock when Jack Black is handing out classic rock albums as homework

he gives the drummer Rush
the guitarist Hendrix
the keyboardist Yes
and the vocalist girl DSOTM for Great Gig

I love that movie.

Oh, come now, these are open-minded people. It's just we all agree that the woman they got in for DSOTM is terrible. In fact, the female backing vocals employed by PF or Waters/Gilmour solo usually tend to detract from their work in my opinion.

Ax, employ the mercy rule. Get a mod to close this poll, and start the next one.

But the next round will be the same, except it will involve me being slaughtered.
