David Bowie survivor - Earthling

We're nearly there folks. Should be, in the words of David Bowie fan Josh Homme, smooth sailing from here on out.

Joining us in the playoffs will be Outside and Strangers When We Meet.

Now we move on to Earthling. I'm pretty excited about this, hearing that it was his most dance/techno sort of album. Let's see if my man Bowie can pull it off.

Vote for one.

My gut reaction is Little Wonder.

But giving it another spin tomorrow just in case.

It's between the first two songs for me.

It was cool that Bowie went down this avenue, but once the novelty wears off there's not much left. I think Outside has better stuff on it.

I do not understand that reference. I'm Afraid of Americans sounds like something off Midnite Vultures.

My vote's going to Dead Man Walking, for sure. It's got great pace, has some uplifting guitar playing, and the ending's awesome. I enjoyed the album ok I guess. I wasn't around for the techno scene of the early 90s, so to me this album's crossover of heavy rock and "techno" just sounds extremely dated. Outside is better.

Bowie of today could definitely make a good dance music record though. He'd just have to get James Murphy to produce it

So if I'm not wrong we've got two votes for Americans, one vote for Little Wonder (Laz?) and one vote for Dead Man Walking... anyone else want to chip in? Or are we done here?

Man, I had forgotten how good that remix was. If that doesn't get through the extraneous round I'll be very upset.
