Please place a check mark next to your ten favorite David Bowie albums, and submit.

Screwtape and I will then weigh the voting in order to determine the number of at-large bids each album gets for the tournament. Once we finish with this, we'll begin voting with David Bowie, the first album.

NOTE: We have split the non-album tracks into two sections due to size.

Any questions, PM me or post in this thread or the intro thread.

Sounds like a plan.

I think we'll leave this open for three days since it bears a lot of weight. All of the voting for songs on specific albums, though, will be one day.

Cannot wait... here's hoping Space oddity still gets through, it seems no one loves the actual album!

May I mention in here how GOOD A New Career in a New Town is. If you'd asked me when i first listened to it what I wanted to win from Low, i woulda said Speed of Life. A few weeks later I would have said Always Crashing in the Same Car, soon after subterraneans and now ANCIANT. Anciant? Ha! Terrific instrumental with a title that represents the music.

Lodger needs some more love.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks it's the best of the trilogy, but come on, it's certainly in the Top 10 albums.

I completely agree, i jump from song to song on that album, its purley a great album
But I would prefer is Speed of Life has some Lyrics. I keep waiting for them, but they never come :(
If it did have lyrics i think it would have been a good single for the Album.

Pretty much went with Space Oddity to Diamond Dogs, not sure if I included Pin-Ups  My 2 others were Lodger and Scary Monsters

My absolutest favoritest bestest Bowie song from his greatestest album. Maybe it's more Eno than David, but still...

If this must be the end of our love, then so be it LM, but I must say:

Heroes >>>>>>>>>>> Ziggy :reject:

Ziggy is rather overrated. It's pretty generic rock to me, and bears little of Bowie's unique, genre busting stamp. The songs are good, but I like DB better when he's pushing the envelope and doing something more interesting musically.

 Dang. Heroes isn't even close to Low standards for me, and definitely not Ziggy.

Regardless, I voted for it.

Great to see some support for it! :) I do now know that I'll be going for it when Low comes around.

And I also think Low >>>>>> Heroes, but I also think Ziggy > Low. Not by heaps though.

Anyone else LOVE Sons of the silent Age? The vocals in the verses are what do it for me. 21 voters too, which is great, though who knows who'll vote when the rounds come around. the only problem with these things is there isn't great amounts of discussion, as is what's happening in the pf survivor.

Polls are going to close in about an hour and a half, at which time I will post the David Bowie album poll.

Pfan, let's divide the spots like this.

1st and 2nd place: 5 more spots
3rd, 4th and 5th: 4 more spots
6th, 7th, 8th: 3 more spots
9th and 10th: 2 more spots
11th and 12th: 1 more spot

If 12th place remains a tie, I'm going to make 8th place 2 spots and and 1 spot for a thirteenth album. Fair? I think so.
