No, in all seriousness, he was a very good footballer and it must be a shocking thing for him. At least he's alive though, although many Uruguayans would argue that 'what is life if you can't play football.

Tragic end to a glittering career....hope he can make a comfortbale recovery...
 
Yeah it is very sad. Remember him playing for Portsmouth last season.

Was he the one who scored an absolute belter for Uruguay against Denmark in the 2002 World Cup? Volley form the edge of the area.

Nah pretty sure it wasn't him, though that was a great strike.
 
That was Diego Forlan (of all people) I think. My abiding memory of Silva from that World Cup is refusing to be substituted in the opening game to Denmark (I think that was him) and in general for scoring the winner at Portman Road in an FA Cup third round tie earlier this year. Never really liked him after that.

News is though he's out of hospital and recovering well, which is :up:.
