While U2 have been on postponment, I noticed Daniel Lanois was playing at I think the Palais theatre in Melbourne. Did anyone got to the show? How was it? Is this even the right forum to post this in?

'cos he is a U2 producer. He helped the band bring many of their gems into the world. Didnt you know? :madspit:

It was a fair question, slightly obsessive question yes, but fair non the less!

I've seen him in LA and in Dublin (I thought surely if the edge came to the LA show, maybe he or another member would come out in Dublin - wrong) and he is an amazing artist in his own right. When you hear his stuff you begin to wonder how much U2 is responsible for songs like "One Step Closer."
On a side-note, I read in "Scar Tissue" that had he not been tied up with ATYCLB and Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack, he was going to produce what would become the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Californication. I already think the album is phenomenal, and of course Rick Rubin can be one of the greatest producers ever, but does anyone else  at the thought of a Lanois produced RHCP?
