That's awesome. Finally a musician getting recognition purely on talent, rather than the skill of the marketing gurus.

Go here:
http://www.damienrice.com/website/sound_library.htm
and watch some of the live stuff!

Then...PLEASE click on 'gigs' and if there is one by you, for the love of god, GO. Fate has conspired against me, so he's in the states when I'm in England and vice versa. Go for me. You'll love him.

I saw his video this morning on VH-1. I'm buying this before I head off to Cleveland.

I might be able to catch him next month, at the Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia. He's worth seeing, I take it.

What an amazingly sad and beautiful album, I'll say again. Really, do yourself a favor and run right out and buy it.

My goodness! Somebody knows of Damien here! After struggling for a while to get his CD and seeing all these blank faces at record stores this is really refreshing. The David Letterman show was one of the best live performances I've seen on a talk show. Still kicking myself for not taping it.

Blower's Daughter and Cold Water are such goregous songs but really the whole album is a treasure.
