Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are apparently having some show at The 9:30 broadcast tonight on NPR.org. Accordingly, I strongly suggest that anybody who isn't an idiot tune in and check them shits right the fuck out. As an added bonus, you can also scope a New Pornographers (aka, one of the three best contemporary bands in the land)/Belle and Sebastian show which was recently recorded, broadcast, streamed, and subsequently archived for the ages. It is good shit, it was good shit, and it shall be good shit.

Get your groove on, motherfuckers. And don't fret the sketchy sound quality. Beggars can't be choosers. Or something. What the fuck do I know...? Just listen to "By the Skin of my Yellow Country Teeth" and shut the fuck up. That's what I'm going to do....NOW!!!

Band goes on in, like, five minutes or something. Anybody up for a setlist party? Clap your own hands, say yeah, and then join me. We will drink and be merry. We will grow drunk on this tidal wave of young blood...and good times.

Fuck...I wasn't here. I guess I'll just assume it was "Yellow Skin..."

That song is tighter than whatever's really tight.

"Over and Over Again" just ended and I have to say...these turkeys sound a great deal better live than I would ever have expected. Quite polished, quite good, and (by the sound of it) more than a little fun. I am digging this and enjoying the new songs. Again, more than I figured. I'm sufficiently stunned.

David Bowie was right, again. That sly fuck...

i think he said it was a new one. some of the lyrics were, 'help me father...' something like that.

that last one was good too - the one where he kept saying, 'satan satan satan satan..' i *think* those were the words.

obviously, i haven't listened to this cd enough. :reject:

Well, we're riding the tidal wave as we speak. Unfortunately, it's already drawing to a close.

The "Satan X 10000" song was amazingly stupid and perfect. It was like a more listenable version of "We Suck Young Blood" or some shit.

these guys are fantastic.

i'm gonna kick someone's ass for not making me listen to them more.

Too bad it's just a party of two. I was shocked, recently, to see the album in fuckin' Best Buy, of all places. I reckoned a few more peoples'd be all up in this bitch. I mean...at least, like...four or something.

So, it's done.

THAT SHOW WAS FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame on all those who missed it. SHAME!!!!

Make sure to check out the URL I posted earlier, because I'm pretty sure the show will be re-streamable or even downloadable. GOOD GOOD GOOD shit. GOOD, I tell you! GOOD!!!

FUCK/asdfsdI@_..!!!!!!!!

best buy's weird like that. best buy here had broken social scene, which was pretty surprising.

there's a few people here who like clap your hands say yeah like jack in the box and zoomerang. but there are also people who start switchfoot threads so... yeah.

anyway, i've had this cd on my computer for like, AGES. needless to say, after hearing them live, it will be going on my ipod immediately. that was pretty stupendous.

and i'm looking forward to hearing the new stuff from them too.

Props.

On a side note and as an ostensible end to this rather dead-end thread, I have not once been to a Best Buy that did not carry BSS albums. Same for Stars and The New Pornographers.

In fact, I've never seen a Best Buy without the new Metric album, either. Though that's for the worse....yeesh.

wow. really?

the best buys in canada only have the new bss and the new metric.

i've never seen the new pornographers or stars or the old metric cd.

what gives? it's canada! they're CANADIAN!!!

(i'm listening to the new pornographers show now  )

Ha ha ha. That's straight fucked. As in "up."

I've noticed, though, that the Best Buys I frequent (aka, two of them) are now carrying a You Forgot it in People album which I don't own. Mine is the ugly-as-shit black-and-white photo of some of the band members and there's that blue garbage all over the place.

I never thought it could happen, but these two Best Buys are now carrying an even uglier/less impressive cover which is all cut-and-pastey or whatever. I've seen it's likeness online, before, but never in the flesh. It was played out before the game ever started...

But, seriously...that's totally jacked up about all the killercool Canadian bands not even bein' represented up in Canada. When Broken Social Scene was released, the local Best Buy near my university had at least 25 copies. The Neko Case CD, as well, had 8 copies in her section as well as another 30-40 in various "New Releases for Too Much Money" sections. I mean, I know she ain't Canadian...but whatever. She's still got that voice. "Star Witness" is my favorite new song of the new year...so far.

oh, they're represented, just not in best buy. we have HMV up here, and they have like, everything.

we like to claim neko case as one of our own. :shh:
