Cujo's Playoff Adventure

On last Tuesday, I made the trek up to Edmonton to Game 4 of the Stars/Oilers playoffs series. Needless to say I was excited after waiting for seven years (see last time Flames made the playoffs)... so, I thought I'd share my adventure with my interland peers (believe me there aren't many )... here goes...

First off I thought I'd confirm the fact that Edmonton has the best fans in the league... see for yourself, they're almost pouring out onto the ice to celebrate Sean Horcoff's goal:

By the way, I'd like to thank the efficient construction crews who have been working on the Capilano bridge (sorry, Wayne Gretzky Drive)... it only took me an hour to go from Argyll to 116... that's twenty blocks for all those unfamiliar with Edmonton's awful traffic grid...

I don't know how the Twins are doing. It's early. I usually don't get into it until I go to a game or two. That's usually around Father's Day cuz we take my dad to a game.

I havent really gotten into the season too much at this point. I did watch a little of a couple of games with my dad and they were horrible. Besides my dad complains about it to me every day.

Georges Laraque!! I think he's from the Mtl...they had him on the radio here and asked him if he'd wanna play here...he said he loved it so much in Edmonton that if they traded him he'd just retire. Unlike Boston, where people are constantly demanding trades, and Mtl, what with the organization having a pole up its bum and Brisebois fleeing to Paris without telling the team first...

Awesome pics!! That looks like a fun game. Ten times the atmosphere of an Avs game...if you can call that choking corporate air an atmosphere.

I would love to buy those Modano sign makers a drink. Except I would have picked Hatcher as going for that sort of thing.

I wish I could go to a playoff game. I haven't even been to a game this season.

Actually, Hatcher was hounded on five separate occassions with chants of "Hatcher wears panties"... which was quite funny, as at least three-quarters of the arena was contributing to the chant.

That's too bad you haven't been to a game yet. I've seen a handful of Avs games... they are exciting to watch, especially when they underestimate a team like Minnesota or Calgary. It's fun to see them get desperate... even more fun to see Roy pulled.

Both games I saw last season, the Avs lost badly. I've always wanted to see Roy pulled in person, but Bob Hartley was generally too chicken to do it.

The Avs games are fun, but the crowd is booorrring. They would rather die than yell something at Hatcher. Sometimes it's like half of them wander in off the street and don't know where they are.

The hot dogs are excellent though!
