Now, since we're not the sanest of sorts, we've decided to take a trip to the delightfully named North Yorkshire village of Crackpot. Its name is derived from an Old English word, 'kraka', for crow and a Viking word, 'pot', in reference to a local cave. This cave apparently has a fine example of a column, formed from the meeting of a stalactite with a stalagmite, so surely Ali's geological nerdiness in particular will be right at home in Crackpot! No word on whether there are any nearby railways for me to pursue my crackpot hobby ...

It certainly is. I won't be old enough to vote in this election, but a good portion of my friends are and I hope they figure out everything before they do so, you know?

It's pretty funny actually, most of the liberal kids in the class sit the left, and the conservatives sit to the right... and the room's arranged in alphabetical order, doggonit, Joe. May I call you Joe?

Right now, I'd say I'm liberal, but I've still got a lot to learn before I can commit to either side. If there's one thing I can't stand more than anything, it's having an uninformed opinion and shouting it in someone else's face. Some of my liberal friends do it, and some of my conservative ones do as well. Even if I don't agree, I'll always respect the ones who take the time to understand what they're saying and try to do it in a more polite manner.
