Cover songs are evil... :mac:

...but I'll play along. Cover songs that don't make me puke are:

Sting "Come Down in Time" (Elton John cover)

:| Yeah, that's about it. Oh and Smashing Punpkins cover of "Landslide".

My music book has informed me that the Clash's Police and Thieves is a cover. I was not aware of this.

yes, the clash's "police and thieves" is a cover

so are "police on my back" and "i fought the law"

*U2--Dancing Barefoot
*Metallica--Turn the Page
*CCR--Heard It Through the Grapevine
*The Clash--Police and Thieves
*Johnny Cash--Personal Jesus

Wow, my brain is dead today. I know there's a ton more covers that I love, but I am totally drawing a blank here!

Current fave:
Saint Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (Neil Young)

Other cool ones:
The Clash - Police & Thieves (Junior Murvin)
Ryan Adams - Wonderwall (Oasis)

Can't remember the rest. Ben Folds' version of Champagne Supernova is as funny as heck.

Nickel Creek - Spit on a Stranger
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Rage Against the Machine - Renegades(entire album)

Radiohead covered Cinnamon Girl and Smashing Pumpkins did You're All I've Got Tonight??? Where the fuck have I been????

the pumpkins also covered "cinnamon girl" back in '89 and a beautiful piano version of "my blue heaven" and an acoustic version of "dancing in the moonlight" many moon ago

Well first off every Me First and the Gimme Gimmes album. Those being Have a Ball, Are a Drag, and Blow in the Wind
I looooove Bono's cover of Hallelujah (Check out Tower of Song for that one.)
U2's Dancing Bearfoot = increadible.
The Indigo Girls' cover of Tangled up in Blue and their cover of Romeo and Juliet.
The Slackers Wanted Dead or alive is fucking phenominal as well. Better than the original I tell you.
