College question

I am just about finished with my undergraduate studies and I'm looking into graduate school.
Eventually I would like to travel overseas, either to Ireland or Italy, to study for my masters in either Irish Lit or Italian Lit.

Has anyone else from the states done this or can anyone offer and insights/suggestions, etc?
