For real.

Anyway, it's like the gave the drummer the "Larry Mullen during the Popmart Sessions" treatment when they recorded that song Viva La Vida.

If I hadn't downloaded this album illegally, I wouldn't be going out to buy it tomorrow. I needed to make sure I'd be spending my $20 wisely.

EDIT: Shit, it's only being released on the 17th in NA. Guess I'm picking it up on Tuesday, then!

HMV. Although, I think new releases might be going for around $14...it's been a while since I've set foot in a music shop.

For those who were fucked because they couldn't listen to the stream (either in the US or on their MySpace site), here's one you can listen to: Coldplay | "Viva la vida" | elmundo.es

Just for my own reference.
And yes, this one is legal.

Four stars out of five from allmusic.com.

allmusic ((( Viva la Vida > Overview )))

Then again, they've given every Coldplay album four stars, including X&Y, so take it for what it's worth.

I love Stephen Thomas Earlwine's reviews, but he can be very generous and liberal with the stars.

I'm just eagerly anticipating what the snobs at Pitchfork are gonna give it.

Speaking of snobbery, who the fuck is this Andy Gill?

Andy Gill: 'Why I hate Coldplay' - Features, Music - The Independent

Typical anti-commercial narrow-minded Radiohead fundamentalist, they always conform to a common line.

This prat even goes as far as to say that Eno made U2 sound "bearable".
