The first Counting Crows album is full of sad songs.

Round Here
Raining in Baltimore
Time and Time Again
Perfect Blue Buildings
Anna Begins

Edit: Also, that hidden track on their live double CD, the one about the buildings in Chelsea. Oh God. That song just kills me.

Is anything different these days?
The light in her eyes goes out.
I never had light in my eyes anyway.
But maybe things are different...these days.

Into The Fire- Bruce Springsteen
The sky was falling and streaked with blood
I heard you calling me then you disappeared into the dust
Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire
I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love bring us love

You gave your love to see, in fields of red and autumn brown
You gave your love to me and lay your young body down
Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire
I need you near, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love bring us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love bring us love

It was dark, too dark to see, you held me in the light you gave
You lay your hand on me
Then walked into the darkness of your smoky grave
Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire
I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love bring us love...

May your love bring us love

To Wish Impossible Things -- The Cure

kinda makes me suicidal

:sigh:  :sigh:

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove this song so much. Yes, it makes me want to draw a warm bath and grab my Gillette. "Same Deep Water As You" from Disintergration does the same as well.

JG, great choice!

"Motorcycle Drive By: Third Eye Blind

This part of the song hurts my soul sometimes:

"I go home to the coast. It starts to rain, I paddle out on the water alone,
Taste the salt and taste the pain. I'm not thinking of you again,
Summer dies and swells rise,
The sun goes down in my eyes,
See this rolling wave,
Darkly coming to take me home,

And I never been so alone, And I've never been so alive."

The majority of the album 'Faith' by The Cure.

It's their most depressing album in my opinion. Here are the song titles, you can kind of tell just by the names:

The Holy Hour
Primary
Other Voices
All Cats are Grey
The Funeral Party
Doubt
The Drowning Man
Faith

True dat...true dat.

Primary= :heart:

"This One's Gonna Bruise" Beth Orton

*

You know, for a band with a reputation for being goofy and weird, Barenaked Ladies have done a lot of sad songs. Here are just a few I can think of:

Wrap Your Arms Around Me
You Will Be Waiting
The Wrong Man Was Convicted
Call and Answer
Conventioneers
Tonight Is the Night I Fell Asleep at the Wheel
What a Good Boy

if it's gonna ba classical, you MUST have a Pink Floyd track

I recommend: Wish You Were Here

and errr

of course, a Portishead track

Wandering Star

Cake - Sad Songs and Waltzes
U2- Until the End of the World
The Cure- Jupiter Crash
The Slackers- Come Back Baby
The Clash- Every Little Bit Hurts

To quote The Cure:
WAS THAT IT? WAS THAT THE JUPITER SHOW?
IT KINDA WASN'T QUITE WHAT I'D HOPED FOR YOU KNOW... "
AND PULLING AWAY SHE STANDS UP SLOW
AND ROUND HER THE NIGHT TURNS
ROUND HER THE NIGHT TURNS...

YEAH THAT WAS IT
THAT WAS THE JUPITER CRASH
DRAWN TOO CLOSE AND GONE IN A FLASH
JUST A FEW BRUISES IN THE REGION OF THE SPLASH...

SHE LEFT TO THE SOUND OF THE SEA
SHE JUST DRIFTED AWAY FROM ME
SO MUCH FOR GRAVITY...

doves - the cedar room

Stars leave the morning
Sleep clouds my view,
Don't let them come round here
and call for you,
I didn't notice
it's a crime too few,
I didn't notice
it's a crime to feel

I tried to sleep alone
but I couldn't do it,
You could be sitting next to me
I wouldn't know it,
If I told you you was wrong,
I don't remember saying
I don't remember saying

I'll be a shadow
in the cedar room,
Leave just a memory
alone with you,
I didn't see that
it's a call too soon,
I couldn't see that
it's a call to you

I tried to sleep alone
but I couldn't do it,
You could be sitting next to me
I wouldn't know it,
If I told you you was wrong,
I don't remember saying
I don't remember saying
