Of course, how the music matches with such performances is a big thing. Even Jagger is going to act different depending on the mood of the song. I wonder if he'd do the same stuff if he wrote a death metal track. We'll have to find out!

Mirrorball Man I had the least qualms with. Some degree of cleverness there, but mostly just groaning. Louder as the tour progressed. The Fly's accent was just confusing. Hard to believe Zoo was my favourite era for so long.
Yeah, Aussie TV is the fucking pits right now. Just about the only good stuff on is whatever the ABC and SBS care to import from Britain, e.g. Top Gear.

Haha, I'd pay to see Jagger do death metal. Or something really ambient. Either would be classic.

Mirrorball Man worked perfectly for Desire and calling the President. Beyond that ... meh. Funny how the best parts of the show were those where the personas buggered off, like Bullet.

"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Vegetable soup sounds good for lunch...
...that still needs to go cook itself.

Too lazy.

Oh right. I've never really tried painkillers for a sore throat though. I just end up using the spray or something for it, not that it helps much.

I'll add Jimi to the list.

The first and last there are on my list, but I'm doing R.E.M. in order and haven't gotten that far. I think the next one's going to be Lifes Rich Pageant.

The latter I already have, and enjoyed. Will add Husker Du.

And I envy you, knowing that you will be enjoying such great music for the first time, even if it doesn't quite tickle your fancy.
Beach Boys? I've heard about this album, but in my experience their sound is redundant.

It's worked for me before, so I'm trying it again tonight. I don't have any spray at the moment, although generally that relieves it to some extent. If I still feel crummy tomorrow I'll grab some.

O God, why do you strike me down with illness on the week's end?!

The only time I've ever noticed it work was when I took some for a headache and it got rid of the slight soreness. But I've never tried for the sole purpose of getting rid of a nasty sore throat. I hope you feel better soon!

You'll think that if you've only heard their early-mid 60s surf related jams and the brilliant but overexposed Wouldn't It Be Nice and Good Vibrations. There's a lot more to them than that. For one thing, they are better than the Beatles because they could actually sing.

You'd probably find a few of the muffins you made come up missing too.

Give Pet Sounds a go. I'm not wild on it or anything, but it's not all that overly poppy stuff.

It's the first time I've ever made it, so you probably aren't missing much!
