Cinephiles: Directors or actors that you binge on?

Like a recording artist or an author, when I really get into an actor or director, I like to binge. As in, let's rent a bunch of work by this person or with this person it and watch it sequentially over the course of a week or weekend.

After Richard Pryor's death, we watched *Live on Sunset Strip* and *Silver Streak.*

Back in the 1990s, I was a serious Gus Van Sant nerd, and I expect it time to start watching his work again.

In the days preceding the release of *Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith,* my daughter and I watched all the Star Wars movies in order from *Episode 4* through *Episode 2.* Then, I completed the experience later by watching *American Grafitti* and *THX 1138.*

This week, I've gone into serious Cameron Crowe indulgence, taken by the fact that as much as I love *Almost Famous,* there's a lot of films by him that I haven't seen.

Confess your celluloid (okay DVD and VHS) obsessions.

I started becoming a huge Viggo Mortensen fan after watching him in LOTR. Even watched a movie that I really had no interest in because he had a small part in it Oh and I used to binge BIG time on David Duchovny!

Directors: Darren Aronofsky or David Fincher. Broken Lizard (though I have 0 desire to watch DUkes of Hazzard). I'll also watch anything that involves the people that made PCU or Harold and Kumar.

The Wachowski brothers lost me with the last 2 Matrix movies, but V for Vendetta looks interesting.

I'll watch anything with Elisha Cuthbert, Audrey Tatou or Alicia Witt. For male actor's Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt make good movies (i'm man enough to admit it).

I've watched at least 15 Kieslowski films in the last few weeks, so I think that would qualify as binge-worthy.

I'm also coming down from recent bingings on the works of Herzog and Wenders.

did you know Viggo is 55 years old, that's insane.

Jennifer Garner could play a lamppost in a movie, and I'd still pay to see it.

Viggo is 55?! Hell if he doesn't look good for his age! He's a great actor and I really enjoy the characters that he plays. Have started a binge lately on Ryan Reynolds ever since I watched him in "Waiting".

For director's Im really big on Ron Howard

I've recently spent a lot of time bingeing on:

Christian Bale
Cillian Murphy
Johnny Depp
Hugh Dancy

I haven't really been bingeing on too many directors, but I'm looking for recommendations from this thread

My latest binge was Joaquin Phoenix. I went on something of a Phoenix-Fest after seeing Walk the Line a couple of months ago, rewatching Quills, Signs, Gladiator, The Village, and then renting Buffalo Soldiers, To Die For, Clay Pigeons, and even Space Camp from his Leaf Phoenix days (god, he was BAD!).
