well this kinda proves my point... coldplay issues a video that uses a video screen and the color red and everyone freaks out. the red hot chili peppers put out a custom iPod and the story gets bumped to the 2nd page in a day's time.

Depeche Mode offered Presale info with the iTunes pre-order of their last album too.

And all the iPod is, is a Custom ENGRAVED iPod. Not really a big deal since anyone can order engraving through apple when you order your ipod.
