I have really high hopes for this project, seeing as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of my favourite books, Burton is one of my favourite directors, and Depp one of my favourite actors. However, that trailer is absolutely appalling. Goofy, overlit, terrible song, and overwhelmingly 'plasticy'.

I disagree Ant, my 10 year old and I loved the trailer and we both can't wait until it comes out.

I loved the book and so does he and for once I think an updated version was required, the original looks rather dated.

There's a major flower show here in the UK at the moment and there's a garden based on Willy Wonka as a tribute to Dahl, its fantastic, theres even small a chocolate river!

Yes, it looks more like a remake of the Gene Wilder movie rather than a new adaptation of the book.

I'm going to see it for Johnny Depp and the sheer weirdness, but I was hoping it would be less, well, psychedelic in nature...
