(Yes, I'm pushing it with that, but I know you'll take it in the right spirit.)
Hey hey hey, only dim sims are made out of cat, and you can get those anywhere anyway!

EDGE: Steve [Lillywhite] brought his wife Kirsty MacColl over, and it was Kirsty who came up with the running order for the record. We were all working flat out trying to finish mixes, Kirsty said, "Give me something to do, for fuck's sake, I'll work on a running order." It has to be said, Kirsty was not a massive U2 fan. We told her to put "Streets" first and "Mothers" last but that was all the guidance we gave her. So she starts listening to the other songs and she was saying, "OK, that's good, like that one, put that second. Mmmm, not sure about that one ... Yeah, I like that ... Really like this one." When she finished listening, she wrote out a sequence in about ten minutes, based purely on putting the songs in order of her favourites. We thought this was funny but when we listened to it, it really did sound like a great sequence, so we went with it.

Dear Axver,

Your racist comments and hardline jokes really sicken me, as does your constantly cynical attitude. Why do you constantly mock me, just because of my race? I thought we were friends. Clearly sharing a lecture and tute with you isn't enough to warrant friendship. Messing with a guy like me is despicable. I'm going to go kill myself now, see you in Hell.

Not really,
major_panic

Oh non-existent God, it's essentially true. Anybody who thinks Trip Through Your Wires is better than One Tree Hill doesn't deserve to have hearing.

So, the One Tree Hill > Exit > MOTD trilogy only came about because the wife of U2's shitty olden days producer didn't like two of U2's best songs.

Yeah, because WOWY > BTBS is like the best sequence ever, guys.

Yeah, that's ... weird. I always thought it was deliberate, what with Edge labelling it the "Suite of Death" and contrasting it with the opening trio.

Well, they certainly did accept her list, so I think if they honestly didn't like that, they wouldn't have had it.

Then again ... Achtung Baby's tracklisting, so yeah, who knows.

Dim sims are to real Chinese food what Elevation is to U2, ie a lame excuse by people who don't know better to think they're doing something that's going outside their usual repertoire of stuff.

In all honesty though, I'd never encountered dim sims until I arrived in Australia. And I spent TEN YEARS of my life in Asia. That should explain a lot.

Dear Maj. Panic,

Your comments have been noted and thoroughly disregarded. See you at the lecture, so that I may taunt you some more. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.

Regards,
Ax

Dear Ax,

Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time.

I genuinely love it when people try to argue that Achtung is a cohesive concept album.

I listen to lots of prog rock, the genre of concept albums of every shape and form, and Achtung is not a concept album!
