CD Rs

Not sure if this is the right forum but what the hell.

Does anyone know, (im sure they do). If you can record an anologue source on to a recordable CD with a CD re-writer?
i.e A VHS tape connected to an hifi with a CD writer.

I have done this with mini-disc before and wondered if it were possible with CDs.

In fact is it actually possible coming from a DVD source.

The reason being i like to record my favorite live U2 songs on to minidisc from the videos/DVDs that i have, but seeing has i only have a minidisc walkman, this is the only way of listening to them.

Any info is appreciated

Yes, you can.

If you have a DVD source, that's even easier. Let me know when you find out which one you have.

I have two DVD players, one a JVC, one a Phillips.
So ur saying if i connect this to my hifi, play the dvd, i can extract the sound and record it onto a CD R. Then play it as a normal CD?

do you have a dvd-rom? that would make it a WHOLE lot easier.

Yes my PC has a DVD rom, and a CD rewriter. What do i need to do? I have sort of tried to do this before with no joy.
