when I think of people who love cats, I think of some 36 year old single woman who has the personality of a doornob.
sorry if I'm wrong.
First, let me say that I consider myself to be both a cat and a dog lover. I just happen to own the greatest cat that ever laid paw on the Earth.

Cat's can be wonderful. Many of them are standoffish, but if you find a good one they're the greatest companions. My cat greets me at the door when I come home, snuggles all the time, gives me headbutts of love, protects me from bad people, sings to his reflection in the mirror, dances, does back flips and even plays fetch. Every one who meets him (the sole exception being my mother) loves him.

As for litter box stink- blame the owner. If you keep it clean, the stink is kept to an incredible minimum. If a house has kitty stink, it's the direct fault of the owner.

I'm a cat person - through and through. So is everyone I know - male and female.

I've never had a dog - and I am not a fan of dogs.

BUT AT LEAST I HAVE THE DECENCY NOT TO IGNORANTLY INSULT THEM IN THE FACE OF THOSE WHO LOVE DOGS. DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS, PEOPLE. HAVE SOME DECENCY AND IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO INSULT A LOVING ANIMAL FOR WHATEVER REASON, DO IT ON YOUR OWN TIME.

So be it - but remember, your opinion is your opinion.

There is no need to be rude or insulting and not mindful of other people's feelings.

Tread softly, please.

Can't forget my doggies!!! The one on the right is my sister's dog Carl (he was just visitin')...the other two are mine. The chocolate lab is Sammy Chase, and the black lab is Edward Wayne (Eddie).

First let me say I'm a fan of both...

I think it boils down to what someone needs from a pet. I personally don't need constant attention ...I don't need a pet to have something to play with...I don't need to have someone run up to me when I come home....its fine if you like and need all that...I just don't.

I think also some people need to be the 'master' in a relationship. The one looked up to...the one that gives the orders....a chain of command if you will...a hierarchy. They of course cannot get that from a cat...a cat ignores them...they can't be submissive...they can't be made to obey.

If you are a cat person you don't have that kind of a need.

I do however like dogs...they have their good qualities...but if I had a choice I would rather be with a cat..

I do find it interesting that there are more virilent dog lovers who hate cats than cat lovers who hate dogs...is it that cat people are just ...nicer?
