The jury is still out for me as to whether he'll make a good Bond or not - however, I am really looking forward to seeing this.:hyper:

I just can't get past the fact that, IMO, he's ugly. He has a great body but I just can't look at his face...

I'll still try and see it with an open mind...Pierce Brosnan is a tough act to follow.

Definitely. It's so shallow and silly I know, but for me Bond is darkhaired too. The only reason I ever saw any Bond movies was Pierce. Not even a fan of the old ones.

The woman in Casino Royale is Eva Green

This movie looks more "action-packed" than the more recent ones.

I'm still not a fan of Daniel Craig's yet, like you guys said, Pierce Brosnan is a tough act to follow.

Sean Connery is my favorite Bond.

Pierce is my fav bond but daniel looks more built than bond should look

Pierce is by far my favorite Bond, Goldeneye being my favorite Bond film (thanks to the awesome Sean Bean as well). Casino Royale does look awesome though. Can't wait to see it. Just gonna be hard imagining Craig as the same character our beloved Pierce portrayed so well, though.

Meh, I think it's well time for a change of direction. The last few Bond movies have been lame, silly gadget orgies. That and Pierce seemed to be playing himself playing James Bond most of the time, for me.

Nothing will ever touch the Connery bond though.

just watched the trailer ... visually stunning, but i can't make heads or tails of what the plot is going to be. hope the movie isn't a mess.

What's with those swimming trunks?

they look tighter than Burt Reynolds's face.

:yikes:

Daniel Craig::up:

Yeah hes not dark haired nor is he a pretty boy but I think he will bring a certain grit to the role. I think hes a really good actor. You should check him out in Enduring Love.

He may not look good in conventional Hollywood way, but this guy sure can act. After watching Layer Cake I am pretty certain he'll do a wonderful job. He'll add something extra to Bond's saturated persona. Now will that go down well with public remains to be seen.

I'm gonna come out and say that I flat out fancy Daniel Craig  . Sure he isn't conventional looking but I don't think that will matter cos he's a great actor and will bring something new and different to Bond. For some reason I've never like Pierce Brosnan  .

I'm definitely seeing this when it comes out  .

From everything I've heard, they're trying to get James Bond back toward Ian Fleming's original conception... that's why they're going back to the first story with Casino Royale. I've heard that Bond is going to be darker and grittier.

I, personally, am looking forward to a change. Like Canadiens1160 said... the last few movies have been getting more and more gadgety with silly dialogue (this is not to say that I did not enjoy each and every moment of them :D )

When does this movie actually come out?

I'll see this one before I decide on Craig as Bond.

That said, I loved Brosnan as Bond (why couldn't they get him to do this movie too?), as well as Roger Moore and Sean Connery. I know everyone says "Connery IS James Bond" but I think they all added something of their own to the movies.

George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton, not so much.

With all due to respect to Pierce Brosnan, he was good at standing still and being Bond but when it came to action he used to struggle big time.

Like someone said earlier, anyone whose got doubt about Craig please watch Layer Cake.

Although I have some respect for Remmington Steele, Roger Moore sure did a good job adding his own oldness and creepyness to the role.

Still, I'll admit that Moonraker is my favourite movie involving space shuttles and Army Space Laser Fighting Corps combat. Top of the list of Bond films

and thank the good lord for that!

LOVE them.

especially on him.

U2Dem -- i prefer rugged to pretty, but i take your points.

at least we're agreed on what's going on from the neck down :sexywink:

i'm cautiously optimistic about Craig. the series has gotten so silly that i hope they can be brought back to earth, though i hope they don't try to get too realistic -- it should be a fantasy.

I hope bond doesnt turn into that crap tripple XXX crap.
With the action sequences in the last few films, you're saying it hasn't already turned into crap teipple XXX crap?

Bond has slowly degraded because they ran out of ideas. Goldeneye was the last one I enjoyed.

I'm just gonna say it. Connery is Bond.

Connery was hardly the best Bond. He isn't even British for fucks sake.

he's scottish. Pierce brosnan wasnt british but he was my best bond of all time.

I hope we dont have a american bond ever.
