Carpenter's appreciation thread

How awesome were they? Karen and Richard Carpenter. I love them more now than in the 70'S, it's true. So much good music I can't even say.

...Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near?

I definately have a soft spot for The Carpenters, such nice innocent music

The Carpenters were pretty good. Sadly, 2/4/2007 marked the 24th anniversary of Karen's death.

Karen Carpenter had one of the most beautiful voices in pop music. End of story.

I have a humongous soft spot for their music.

She most definitely did. Beautiful soaring vocals especially with we start out walking and learn to RUN! and so many more. Great instrumentals. Truely American Idols.

RIP Karen Carpenter

Having sold 100 milion or more records worldwide put's them almost at the top of all artist's ever, in the same group with U2 as far as record sales. U2 with 170 million.
(ABBA with 370 million wow!)
