And an entire nation exhales at the same time.

That was one nail-biter of a game, but Canada goes onto the Olympic hockey semi-finals to play...Belarus?? What the hell? How Sweden lost that game, I'll never know.

This actually opens the door for my beloved home team, as now they play a much weaker team than the vaunted Swedes. Since Canada seems to be unable to NOT play a close game, however, I won't assume a spot in the gold medal game quite yet.

And now, for a victory yell.......YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Adam: Look guys, I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon collection.
Edge: Oh boy, here we go...
Bono: Wow, how many is that now Adam?
Adam: Nine. If I didn't have my spoons, I'd go insane.
Bono: Can I see it?
*adam gives bono the spoon, bono throws it away*
Adam: My spoon!

belarus won because belarus are good.

sweden is also very good but when you have a hot goaltender and a streaking confident team you can go deep.

it is not inconceivable that belarus take out canada. the canadian's have shown their liabilities and are playing a largely foreign team. everyone knows the canadians and their strengths and i think that could be belarus's strongest point, besides their great stopper.

i am still predicting canada playing the states in the final cause i feel those are the two teams that will come out of their match ups in the semis but do not discount the effort of belarus.

don't.

Losing to Belarus was our (the swedes) most humiliating sport failure ever. I?ve never been so mad in front of the TV before. Nevertheless I like surprises and underdogs and now I just hope a second miracle will take place so that Canada gets kicked out of the tournament too.
