I guess because I'm a fan of Candian humor, I actually know the "back bacon" question - and I may be the only guy from south of the Mason-Dixon to be so blessed.

"Back bacon" and "Canadian bacon" refer to the same thing, bacon taken from the back of the hog. "Canadian bacon" is just the American term for "back bacon."

But the Canadian hosers call it "back bacon," eh?

Hosers.

especially the snow plows.

btw, the other day while I was at our other office helping some user out with printer settings, he asked me if I was Canadian. I should have told him yes and just strung him along, but alas I did not.

What does that entitle?

I know that to become an honorary newfie you have to get "screeched" in
which means you kiss a codfish and drink a shot of newfie screech

LMAO!!

.... well, I am from BC, so to become an honourary British Columbian it probably entails smoking some weed and jumping into a glacier lake. lol

How about we just make her watch a marathon of Road to Avonlea whilst listening to Anne Murray's greatest Hits.

aha, but you see...I adore Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea and have watched them enough times to quote sections of them to you. As for the television series, I haven't seen them all but have watched a good portion of em. Anne Murray...*shudders* Our co-workers in Indonesia used to play her Christmas tape every year. I've heard plenty.

You're in.

Now sing this with me... this is *not* 40

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee...

you're gonna think I'm such a poser, but I do indeed know all the words to your anthem (the result of having Canadian roommates all through boarding school ages 7-16). *sings with gusto* Do you like to go high or low on the last "for thee" part?

sula has done well so far. but before becoming an honorary canadian she must
1) tell us who the first prime minister was(because so few canadians can answer the question )
2) skate
3) complete this sentence: keep your _____ on the ice
4) skate with a stick
5) hate ontario(unless she goes to ontario, in which case she'll forget about the rest of the country)
6) skate with a stick and a puck.

kobun, you are a harsh taskmaster. I'll give it my level best though.

1. John MacDonald
2. yes I can
3. I dunno but I'm gonna say it's either "feet" or better yet "ass"
4. check
5. but of course. My good friends from Alberta have attempted to convince me that the Western provinces need to be more equally represented and that Ontario controls the entire country.
6. well you got me here, cuz I haven't tried the puck yet. Come on over tonite tho and we'll see if I can't pull it off.

Ahhhh the prairies. As I've told kobesan, I was happy to find myself mistaken when I drove across Alberta and Saskatchewan last year. They're actually rather beautiful in their wide-open-space sort of way.

Now...can I please have my Tim Hortons and be on my way?
