you are lucky. here's an example of a former coworker (long story there) when i told him i liked crowded house: "oh are they the band that did 'our house, in the middle of our street'?"

WHAT THE FUCK NO "DON'T DREAM IT'S OVER" IS WAY MORE POPULAR THAN "OUR HOUSE" WHICH IS A GREAT SONG TOO BUT WTF

And Tir Nan Og is an amazing closer, my second favourite song on the album after Printemps Emeraude. What a beautiful, restful way to end an album.

I swear to God, Our House is one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life. Though the co-worker is clearly worse.

Sort of like when I say I like U2, and people say, "Oh, I don't really like them, but Vertigo's a good song."

That reminds me of the idiots at my high school who thought they were a new band who'd only done Sweetest Thing, Beautiful Day, and Vertigo. Some people are astonishingly ignorant about music. If you don't know a band well, at least SAY YOU DON'T rather than pretending you know their hits.

confession time: this song (wham's careless whisper) was like a total favourite of mine when i was a kid. i wore out this tape several times. also, when i got my first car, since it only had a radio/tape player, and radio here sucks, i went digging for tapes i owned. the first one i came across was this wham tape

I can't tell you how many times people have attempted to insult me by saying, "U2's so gay, Dan!"

I love how some people still think that's actually a meaningful insult. n00bs. That was so 2001 anyway.
