Printemps Emeraude is one of the greatest album openers I've heard in my life. I got a leak of the album in June 2007 and put it on my iPod when I went to New Zealand with a few other albums I wanted to check out. Had no expectations for any of them, but I'd heard Alcest's originality praised. I put it on in Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport and I was just blown away. I listened to the album almost non-stop for the week in New Zealand. What fucking great, beautiful, powerful music.

it's like that with my friends. whenever surveys get passed around via email, those "how well do you know your friends" crap, if a question comes up about my music taste, it always ends up being an answer like "indie" (wtf, i don't like indie music) or basically "stuff i don't know" sorry i don't listen to nickelback/other crap on top 40 stations!

Sure, just sending it to you now, and I've copied PFan in too as I'm assuming he doesn't have it.

On my version, Printemps Emeraude is the first track.

Tir nan og is the closer.

Like you can talk about good taste, Ms New Wave.

I'm lucky, my friends range from similar tastes to stuff I'm not a fan of. I have one friends who loves U2; we've been to a lot of shows together since the Zoo TV Tour, so that's kind of cool.

Shit, I wrote totally the wrong word, I meant 'opener'. I just edited the post.

And Tir Nan Og is an amazing closer, my second favourite song on the album after Printemps Emeraude. What a beautiful, restful way to end an album.

Yes. The one I'm referring to is my famous idiot buddy, aka Code Name Nate. He's a mild baseball fan, much more into basketball. The rest of my buddies are big fans, most of them play.

Not many of mine do either. My closest friends rarely like more than one or two bands that I do.

A couple have even tried to argue that my bands aren't very good because not many people know them and they aren't in the top 40. I called them fucking ignorant twits.
