Stewart is charming but he isn't a great actor. I'm sorry but he never had the depth that other actors have.

Costner isn't charming or a good actor. He's had the luck of being in well written parts a few times, however.

James Earl Jones fucking owned Field of Dreams.

I support gay marriage if both the chicks are hot!

In seriousness, anyone that uses biblical text as an excuse to oppose gay marriage is just using that as a thin mask for bigotry and homophobia. The bible says a lot of things about who can and can't marry each other. It doesn't mention same sex marriage at all.

Oh, I'm all for legalising it. Strikes me as wildly illogical and inconsistent that it isn't legal.

But I'll keep milking that gayCHUBBYdating ad for all it's worth.

Yeah, I'm all for it too. I love gay people. I think it is a wonderful blessing not a curse. Two men or two women or even two transgender people are as beautiful as a man and woman.

And if the Bible did say anything, who gives a fuck? We're not a religious country, as much as the evangelicals would dispute that.

Axver is farther left than anyone you will ever know.

I consider myself to be on the moderate left in a global context (though I'm aware I'm on the far fringe in a US context). It's not as if I'm a communist or even a socialist. Just a social democrat.

I knew one guy in Queensland who I swear to god wished he was Leon Trotsky. He was like the political version of a tribute band.

Did you have to tell him he broke the cycle?

I wasn't questioning that I just honestly wondered because I've never asked him. What are your views on it?

It doesn't matter to me. That's my view. It doesn't effect me in particular, for better or worse. There are more important issues. But whatever makes people happy, I guess.

Costner is pretty charming and inviting. Most people are interested in his story. Don't tell me Jimmy Stewart wasn't helped by well written parts as well. He never showed any kind of depth though.

Exactly. And seriously. This is a multicultural country. There are plenty of people here (tax payers! ) who aren't Christians, and they deserve just as much respect as the Jesus mongerers.

In my religion we shag whoever the fuck we want.

Ok, I think I'll take this moment to say this:

I've seen 3 Hitchcock movies (in recent times enough for me to remember what they are about, I saw a LOT of his films between the ages of 5-10)

They were: Strangers On A Train, Rear Window, and North by Northwest.

I'm about to get shot for what I'm going to say, but, Strangers aside, I do NOT get the appeal for Hitchcock.
All Rear Window and North by Northwest seemed to be were thinly veiled sexual inuendo, and super cheesy, convenient plots. Honestly I wasn't even close to impressed.

You may put me before the firing squad now.

It doesn't even matter if you think it's a blessing or beautiful. It's just a matter of assuring that they get rights.

Anybody who thinks the Bible should be used to guide and frame legislation is a fucking exclusivist moron anyway.

In any case, you can't even get a group of five Christians to agree on what a Biblical passage means. So whose interpretation should we trust IF there were a viable case for it to have any role to play in lawmaking?

Watch Vertigo, then come back to me.

Exactly.

It's illogical and inconsistent to base rights on some fucking bits of genitalia.

I didn't comment on Stewart, as I've only seen one role of his and think it's premature to have an opinion on him. Costner has never made me interested in his story. He's made me laugh on occasion, but he's not a noteworthy actor, in my opinion. Not terrible, just bland.

Whenever a fundie tries to say that the US is a Christian country, I have four words for them: Treaty of Tripoli, bitch.

I will have to join you in front of the firing squad.

What's wrong with trandsgender people?

A guy's a guy, and a girl's a girl, and that's that to me. I'm not saying that both have to be radically masculine or feminine, that would be ridiculous, but they were born that specific gender for a reason. Circumstance and environmental issues (not global warming, guys) breed that thought, not actual genetics and shit.
