I can't even imagine spending two weeks away from the Internet. Besides this place, I also use it as my primary source of news. Whenever I've spent a few days in New Zealand with little/no Internet access and just watched the nightly TV news, I've ended up feeling so disconnected and out of touch with the world.

My general opinion of newspapers the length and breadth of Australia and New Zealand is considerably unflattering. A couple used to be good, but in recent years have given in to more tabloidy and sensationalist tendencies.

I blame both the Superthread and university for fucking up my schedule. The Superthread made it enticing to stay up late, and not having any classes earlier than midday last semester made it possible.

Curse this semester's 10am classes! Curse them to hell!

I used to love getting up early. Dawn tends to be a very nice and peaceful time of day. But I also like the very late night and early morning, so since I've slipped into staying up late, I run with that.
