Bjork

How very Scandinavian of her, yes?

There was a time I was deadly frightened of her. That gutteral growl thingy on 'Birthday' is possibly not the best thing I could have heard in the early years of my musical development when I was 13.

But then I heard 'Hyperballad' earlier this year and all was forgiven.

So, let us appreciate.

I love me some Bjork.

Post is one of the best albums I've heard, period.

Hyperballad is indeed amazing.
So is Hidden Place.

Her Greatest Hits (how ironic) is a good place to start.

Sugarcubes!

Except for that shithead dude that insists on singing on every song.

They'd have alot of good tunes if it weren't for him.

Bjork's one my favorites, it started with Post and I've been a fan ever since.
Medulla is one of the most creative albums I've ever heard, and Homogenic is one of my all-time favorite albums. She's amazing.

I was gonna rave about Hyperballad and 2 people already beat me to it!

Other songs I love...

Isobel
Army Of Me
Big Time Sensuality
It's Oh So Quiet
....

yeah, pretty much all her early singles, that's it!

Come to think of it, I don't own a single album of hers! Maybe I should go get Post.

Medulla is amazing. Has anyone heard the soundtrack she released for Matthew Barney's new film - 'Drawing Restarint 9' - I love Bjork, but this majorly instrumental album is meant to be bizarre even by her standards, and I haven't been brave enough to fork over $20 for it...

hahaha, so true

Bjork is awesome. I got her debut album back in 93, I guess it was, and after falling in love with it I went and backtracked some Sugarcubes and my initial reaction was yours, precisely.

All he had to do was STFU and it would have been really good.

I own it of course... it is weird, yes, but I think you need to see the movie to understand the album

crys I need help!!!

Okay, I didn't want to start a new thread just for this...

I have absolutely nothing of Bjork except for a few songs that beau2ifulday sent me! I'm dying to get into her music!

I'd like to get either her 'fan compiled' Greatest Hits or simply start at the beginning with Debut and Post!

Suggestions?... please?

Debut and Post are both great, but I give Post the edge. Homogenic is good, too.
