Can anyone explain to me why this song is titled Big Log? My coworker and I can't seem to make a connection between the title and the lyrics...

The only explanation of the lyrics I've seen mentioned that the song could be about a relationship with God, soul-searching, etc. Which leads back to "Why is this called 'Big Log'"?

I think that's a trait of his, look at most of Led Zeppelin's songs. The title isn't even in a lot of them. Of course it's easy to let our dirty imaginations run wild on this one especially after this quote I distinctly remember him giving on MTV back in 1988. When asked about the song, he said:
"it was about a relationship I was having at the time. I was obsessed with sex. Like a DOG"

Black Dog was titled after the sightings of a ghost of a black dog the Zep members claimed to see roaming Crowley's castle during recording sessions, if I recall.
