i'm not a huge springsteen fan (mostly because i haven't heard a ton of his stuff), but i like the title track.

i think the only springsteen album my parents own is born in the u.s.a.

Interesting. I think Paradise is one of the best songs on there.

I'm going to give Born On The Run a close listen as soon as I finish with this Elliott Smith album.

Lyrically, yeah, but I think it's instrumentation hurts it. It's too little. I think simplicity is OK, but at least with some power. It just didn't work for me.

It's got some beautiful songs on it. The title track, Brilliant Disguise, Two Faces, Tougher Than The Rest, One Step Up, etc. Great stuff.

Born On The Run? Is that a cross between Born To Run and Band On The Run?

That's just it, though. The lyrics are so powerful that the stark instrumentation offers a fantastic contrast to it.

I'll Work For Your Love is the weakest link on Magic, I think. Just doesn't really go anywhere.

I've said it plenty of times, but it bears repeating - the sequence from Magic to Terry's Song is one of the best he's had in years.
