But I'm right and the historical fact backs me up The career timeline alone of some of those disqualify them.

There were very few disco 'bands.' They were mostly singers or groups of singers backed by the thump thump thump noises.

KC and the Sunshine Band, yes, typical disco. Chic is a disco band. The Bee Gees were a band who 'went' disco. There were a lot of female solo disco artists but most of their names escape me Thelma somebody? Alicia somebody? Andrea True Connection and Gloria Gaynor for sure. Perhaps even Samantha Sang and Evonne Elliman (sp) Andy Gibb was disco teen pop. Leif Garrett was not disco, nor was Shaun Cassidy. They were pop 'teen idols' and 16 mag and Tiger Beat pinups. Don't forget Lipps, inc. (Funkytown) Then came M (who did the song Pop Muzik which is now incorrectly assumed to be a U2 song.) Oh give me time and I could make you a disco list! It makes me very sad to see too much of the 70's lumped in with disco just as too much 80's is lumped in with hair metal.

Martha I dont recall either,.... Alicia Bridges? I wouldn't call Lipps Inc disco. They're known as one, but I dont classify them as such. It was that trashy pop that took the 70's into the 80's, if anything. I know many and probably even the group themselves, call their style disco, but I will disagree until I have a blue rinse and walking cane

Still....this is only a joke thread, so none of it matters anyway thankfully!

U2 Kitten. I was just mucking around with this thread. Something to keep me amused until Calvin and Heather get voted off.

Also, you must remember that its only the USA that puts firm rules on music, has categories etc. We just have one set of charts here. Either you sell the most records or you dont. Were not really into rules over here. Or anywhere really other than US.

The bit about 80s and hair metal is very US too. Here it would be more of a New Romantic and/or Techno sterotype.

You wouldnt have heard of JPY. I was intentionally only putting in artists that were significant outside of the US as this poll involved a lot of Non US people being stupid. I just chucked in the Jacksons at the end. I eliminated John Denver solely because I dont like him.

Yeah, some of them only had one or two disco songs but they still qualify. eg David Bowie has been Glam, New Wave and Crap.

I think theres only about 8 people voting and most of them are probably from the silly Testje crowd.

If people want me to run this properly I can. Dave said he will start his poll back up on Tuesday ( ) so maybe people will be preoccupied with that.

But yeah, if you want me to do it properly I can. I play drum music to my unborn for an hour a day and log on to Interference at the same time so I have the time.
