off topic (or rather, back on topic): green day - castaway is a great track that has inexplicably lodged itself on a never-ending loop in my brain. only thing is, i think it came out in 2000. maybe one of you radiohead nerds can remind me (no google, i'll be able to tell!) when kid a came out. same day as green day put out the warning album.

well, that would make sense. and i think that's what i thought you were talking about the first time i saw your post, which makes sense as to why i didn't say anything before LJT posted, but makes no sense as to why i thought you meant the band now. good thing i didn't say, "what, you indie fucks never heard of the decembrists? and you call yourselves cutting edge." that would have been embarrasing!
Tres embarrassing

I guess it has to be about the Shankill Butchers from here Lara.....hmm anyone know of the band giving a rundown of what the songs are about, I would just like to hear why they picked up on the story.

here to save the day, the ever resourceful VG

Quote:
The Shankill butchers ride tonight
You better shut your windows tight
Theyre sharpening their cleavers and their knives
And taking all their whisky by the pint
Cuz everybody knows
If you dont mind your mother's words
A wicked wind will blow
Your ribbons from your curls
Everybody moan everybody shake
The shankill butchers wanna catch you
Awake

They used to be just like me and you
They used to be sweet little boys
But something went horribly askew
Now killing is their only source of joy
Cuz everybodys knows...

[repeat]

The shankill butchers on the rise
Theyre waiting till the dead of night
Theyre picking at their fingers with their knives
And wiping off their cleavers on their thighs
Cuz everybod knows...

[repeat]

The shankill butchers wanna kill you
The shankill butchers wanna cut you
The shankill butchers wanna catch you
Awake
Awake
Awake
Awake
not exactly cryptic.
very weird though

I don't even have the album I'm still working on acquiring all of picaresque...

I've never heard a person outside of Belfawst / Norn Iron talking about it liek. Just struck me as an odd song title.

And I don't think much of those song lyrics
