I'm making a compilation of the best piano in any song. And well, my list is short. I know there is a lot out there so what would your suggestions be?
So far I've got REM - At My Most Beautiful and Nightswimming and also INXS - Beautiful Girl. So as you can see, I'm off to a flying start here with this huge choice.

Help?

Personal favs, off the top of the old head.

The Clash - The Card Cheat
The Beatles - Let It Be
Tori Amos - Winter
Coldplay - The Scientist
Bell X1 - Slowset
Elton John - Tiny Dancer
REM - Nightswimming
The Verve - On Your Own (acoustic version)
Manic Street Preachers - PROLOGUE TO HISTORY

Tori Amos - Winter
Elton John - Tiny Dancer
REM - Nightswimming
Manic Street Preachers - PROLOGUE TO HISTORY -investigating now
The Clash - The Card Cheat - I went through a Clash exhaustion phase about 10 years ago and haven't been able to listen to them since

Who are Bell X1?

they're an Irish band, part of a rather incestous music scene. basically the old band Juniper minus Damien Rice.

'Slowset' is from their first CD "Neither Am I" which is impossible to find anywhere and which I managed to find on Soulseek after weeks of begging

Hmm I see they are hard to come by. I am 111th in a queue but the bitrate is 203.
I could be retired by the time this song becomes available.
:hmm:

thanks turtle btw

lol

I forgot one

John Cale - Hallelujah

Rufus Wainwright does a more or less note for note version. Oh, and glance at the similar threads...I can't believe I missed that one!

Tori Amos:
I Can?t See New York
Marianne
Jackie?s Strenght
and Winter

and...

Coldplay - Amsterdam
REM - The Lifting
Radiohead - Pyramid Song (hmm but you?re the girl who hates Radiohead aren?t you? whatever..)

and for god's sake why hasn't anyone mentioned ben folds five?

any of their songs will do, but "brick" or "cold, selfless, and composed" work great in a pinch.

can't believe i missed that stickyhead.. Brick is an amazing song.

Amen. "Shadowboxer" would be an excellent one to put in the list (man, I love that song...).

And I noticed the mention of some Tori Amos songs in here-another one by her to add to the list: "Spark". The piano in that song is fricken' incredible. I love it.

I also would recommend the Jools Holland version of "If You Wear That Velvet Dress"-the piano in that one's awfully nice, too..
And Jewel's "Foolish Games" would be another pretty one to add...

That's all I can think of for now.
