I really like "less Than You Think" (feedback and all). But I think "other" would still get my vote.

And the other that comes to mind first is "Sanskrit" by Isidore. I adore that song.

Forgot to mention that my runners-up (almost made it) are...

1. Dark Of The Matinee - Franz Ferdinand  and

2. Mr. Brightside - The Killers

High Up Your Tree- The Charlatans

Crumbs From Your Table- U2

Leaving New York- R.E.M.

The Rat- The Walkmen

Nothings Changing My Life- The Hoodoo Gurus

I don't know if it's 2003 or 2004, but if the latter:

Jet - Move On

and regardless:

U2 - Miracle Drug

 at mofo

umm, i think tsar deathbear mentioned a lot of mine, but here they are anyway:

stars - ageless beauty

the arcade fire - neighbourhood #2 (laika)/une annee sans lumiere/rebellion (lies)/pretty much all of 'funeral'

the walkmen - the rat

interpol - take you on a cruise/not even jail/again, almost all of 'antics'

muse - stockholm syndrome

ted leo & the pharmacists - me and mia

oh, did you just want one?

you win...

for me:

Interpol - the whole Antics album
The Walkmen - The Rat
Wilco - At Least That's What You Said/Hummingbird/Company In My Back
The Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #2
Xiu Xiu - I Luv The Valley Oh!/Crank Heart
Death From Above 1979 - Turn It Out

etc.!

truth be told i was in a hurry when i made the initial post.

i believe the arcade fire might actually be tied with broken social scene as my second/third favourite band.

who ranks this shit anyway? what's my problem? anyway, once radiohead releases more new material i'm sure they'll once again be the easy favourites.

they don't even have to try and they put out good stuff. it must be nice to be that good.

i wonder how they are at other things...like vacuuming...or various other household chores.

Keane-Somewhere Only We Know

Boston's 101.7 WFNX was the first station in the US to play Keane...and I was listening when they played it for the 1st time. Just wanted to share that.
