well for all those lucky people who are priveleged to get this technology:

anyway mine is already quite impressive

best ones i have are (and purely simply because they captured all the technology the dvd has to offer)
the matrix
gladiator
starwars episode 1- the movie that your dvd player was made for
independence day
bladerunner
terminator 2
titanic- stunning visuals
2001 a space odyssey
jurassic park
braveheart (special edition)
x-files season 1 boxset
x-files season 2 boxset :p

im all for the epics

slight disappointments are:
the simpsons season 1 boxset - its a cartoon, so those amazing things dvd can offer is somewhat lost
close encounters of the third kind

We just got our DVD player...the only dvd I own is the making of JT. It's great!!!

I think it's a law that anyone who has a DVD player must own The Matrix (Isn't that the film that they used to show the capabilities of DVD?)

Well, I don't own a DVD player. However, I am staying at my sister's house right now, and she does. However, she only has one DVD (which I bought for her): Mouse Hunt.

Hey, it's friggin' cute, okay?????? I'm rather fond of mice!

What would Jesus Not do?

road warrior
bladerunner
the limey
hard boiled
black mask
dr. strangelove
beastie boys anthology
caddyshack
rushmore
matrix
saving private ryan
9 1/2 weeks

The ones I love that aren't on this list yet:
Ronin - those car chases completely come alive on your TV
The Talented Mr. Ripley - its really stunning visually
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - just hilarious, and the sound is awesome, plus cool extras
Apollo 13 - probably my favorite movie ever, with those incredible launch scenes too

I also have the standard Saving Private Ryan and Gladiator. I don't own The Matrix for the simple reason that everyone around me already has it in case I ever need to watch it.

Change is the only constant

Fight Club is a wicked DVD, and definately one that I need to get.

THe Criterion collection edition of Brazil is quite cool for extras..

and the Terminator 2 special edition is of course monumentally extra featured.. though i dont have it and i've never seen it, just heard about it.

although I mostly go for the japanimation in dvds i think my best dvds are:
The mummy:ultimate edition
the mummy returns: collectors edition
Die Hard:five star collection
Enemy of the State
Cats and Dogs
world is not enough

hrmm.. good one...

Fight Club
Godfather Box Set
Chasing Amy - Criterion Coll.
Boogie Nights
Magnolia
Friends Box Set
Bridget Jones' Diary
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Virgin Suicides
Quills

(this is all subjective of course, in relation to number of plays - Out of the ones I have... these are the most practical per usage.

Don't have many but....

I'd have to say the Dumb and Dumber
or
Grumpy Old Men.

Nothing much funnier than those two.

I have 12 of the 007 dvd's so far
The Matrix
Universal Soldier (came free with the ps2)
Disturbing Behaviour (see prev)
The Mummy and the Mummy Returns -Collectors ed
Se7en -collectors ed with alternate ending
12 Monkeys
The Austin powers Shagadelic Pack 1&2
And I am waiting patiently for the all Star Wars to come out.

My Bonds make my collection look big! But I dont have much variety either

Ah Yes.. Someone stuck a Bugs Life on there.. the picture is just amazing... I think it belongs right there next to the Matrix as the Most used to Show off DVD capabilities!!

Fight Club was an awesome surprise. Great film. 1st time I saw it was on DVD. I have never been more pleasantly surprised by any film.

Phantom Menace lives up to it's claim of best sound. Lucasfilm rocks.

Best DVD...EVER!.... Simpsons first season. Bland DVD (nothing special in the way of extras, except missing episode, of course). Best content to date...pure Simpsons...

mmmmmmmm.......Simpsons
