Real oldies?

I'd recommend 'Earth Angel' by The Temptations

The Grass Roots good suggestion! I'll have to look into your other ones.

I've got Sweet Caroline and The Sound of Silence

How about some Sinatra, Billie Holiday, or Dean Martin? Or some other oldies...

*Maybe Baby--Buddy Holly
*I Only Have Eyes for You-- The Flamingos (this is such a great one!)
*Crimson and Clover--Tommy James and the Shondells
*One Night--Elvis
*My Girl--The Temps (yes generic, but really, the song never seems to get old...)
*Aint Too Proud to Beg--The Temptations yet again...
*Let's Get It On--Marvin Gaye...hehe

Hope I was able to help...

"the Way You Look Tonight"--I believe Harry Connick, Jr. did a great version of this classic
"Be My Baby" the Chiffons (?)--the song at the beginning of Dirty Dancing
"The Nearness of You"--this is an old Hoagy Carmichael song; Norah Jones' version is beautiful

"I'm Into Something Good" by Herman's Hermits (actually by Carol King, but HH's version) because it's about dancing with a pretty girl

HeartlandGirl--I'm old enough to remember these when they were first released!

joyfulgirl There's nothing wrong with that!

Wow.

Great list you have so far, Skeek.

I also agree with a lot of the other songs mentioned.

How about "Midnight Confessions", another Grass Roots song?

And, my personal favorite song of all time-"Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbinson. I definitely suggest that one, too.

"Brown-Eyed Girl" would work, too (and if your love has brown eyes, that makes it even better ).

And "Something" by the Beatles as well.

There's a few more suggestions for you.

Enjoy your prom, and your time with the girl you're going with. .

Angela
