The difference is that John never claimed to be normal, well-adjusted, sane, etc.

The image of Paul as the nice, easygoing, normal one has always been rather misleading.

Well, that makes it all right.

The difference is also John-Julian and John-Cynthia-Yoko issues are well known, and from what I read that was worse than anything I ever read on Paul-Linda or their children. So yes, I find a lot of Mills' claims hard to believe.

Well, it's not that hard being normal in comparison to John's life.

SeattleVertigo: *cough*Maureen Starkey* George had his problems too, if Wikipedia knows its stuff.

Oh noes! You mean Paul's not perfect!

Fuck that, who cares? He's still written some of the most enduring melodies of the last 50 years.

If it turns out he beat his wife or did something else heinous, yeah, that would suck and be disappointing. But if Heather Mills is the one to release that info, I think Paul's image will remain relatively untarnished, and it's going to backfire onto Mills even further.

There's nothing she can do now to help her reputation but go away quietly and try to live out of the spotlight.
