Other than the fact that the song sounds suspiciously like communist propaganda , you said it yourself:

I can't say that I am a huge BB fan, I realize they have their place (way down in Cocomo, I believe ). I am one of the few who does not believe Pet Sounds is an essential album ...

Don't judge the Beach Boys by the awful "Kokomo." Judge the Beach Boys by "God Only Knows, "Good Vibrations," "The Warmth of the Sun," "Don't Worry Baby" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice."

(But yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Pet Sounds as a whole, either.)

I know that they have some good stuff but I think most of my dislike comes from my mother who was diehard Beatles fan and hated the Beach Boys...

I approve of this post as well.

I do enjoy Pet Sounds, but I'd take any post-Beatles For Sale album over it.

Hmm... see I've always been turned off by their music. Not too sure why, I just find it all too bubblegumy .. for lack of a better word, lol. Good Vibrations has always annoyed me a bit, probably because its the Good Guys ad, Wouldn't it be Nice annoys me, probably because its the Cadbury ad...

oh and btw, I was going to buy Abbey Road yesterday. But it was $26 up from $14 so I bought And Now For Something Completey Different and Blankety Blanks instead.

And why is the Let it Be album frowned upon?

The songs are very unimpressive and it is the worst produced Beatles album. It is probably the worst Beatles album period.

I'm not a fan of all the little old bluesy songs like Old Brown Shoe and One After 909. They seem like such throwaways. I mean, yay for them for doing stuff they had fun playing, but snooze.

On the other hand, it's got Two of Us and Let It Be, two great songs.

That would be A Hard Day's Night. There's 5 good songs on that one and a bunch of filler. They should have stuck with covers.

And Old Brown Shoe wasn't on Let It Be...it was the b-side of The Ballad Of John And Yoko.

That beats 3 good songs and filler on Let It Be.

Two Of Us, Across and I've Got A Feeling are great. Get Back is Let It Be's Back To The USSR. I Dig A Pony and Let It Be are just bad. Let It Be is more of a cheese-fest than American Prayer.

A Hard Day's Night
If I Fell
Can't Buy Me Love
Things We Said Today
I'll Be Back

The rest sounds like a Beatles tribute band or something.

And Dig A Pony is amazing, as is For You Blue.
