Why does Golden Slumbers have 0 votes, while Because has 4? That's just illogical.

Explain to me how logic applies here.

It would be rather comical if Golden Slumbers or The End emerged as the victor.

Golden Slumbers is a great tune, but I think this round belongs to George.

Carry that Weight? That's ludicrous.

I'm just saying that, considering they're both the quietest, calmest songs left, and they really aren't all that different, how can one song have so many votes with the other having none?

I'm biased of course. I've never considered Golden Slumbers to be all that great. Carry That Weight has a part of YNGMYM in it...that automatically makes it awesome.

No it wouldn't, it would be justice...

The End is brilliant....fragment or not...

Something is much better.

Because next.

For discussion people!!
Just thought I’d bring this up to make a bit of discussion. Taken from “Here, There and Everywhere – The 100 Best Beatles Songs.”

According to them, our top ten should finish up as follows:
1. A Day in the Life
2. Strawberry Fields Forever
3. Let it Be
4. Yesterday
5. All You Need is Love
6. Hey Jude
7. In My Life
8. Penny Lane
9. Revolution (Both the redo and Rev 1)
10. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Obviously it can’t be this, but just thought I’d throw it out there. Album by album, the winners should have been:

Please Please Me – Please Please Me (rated #71 on their list, our winner was Twist and Shout, which didn’t rate )

With the Beatles – All My Loving (rated #60, we got this right)

A Hard Day’s Night – I’ll Be Back (rated #34. A Hard Day’s Night, our winner rated #49, behind If I Fell (#46) and I Love Her (#48)

Beatles for Sale – Eight Days a Week (rated #31, we got this right)

Help! – Yesterday (rated #4, again right)

Rubber Soul – In My Life (rated #7, again right)

Revolver – Here, There and Everywhere (rated #17. Apparently we were way off the mark Our winner, Eleanor Rigby was #27, Tomorrow Never Knows was #39, with And Your Bird Can Sing also higher at #22)

Sgt. Peppers – A Day in the Life, #1. Duh. (Interesting to note all songs bar When I’m 64 made the list)

Magical Mystery Tour – Strawberry Fields Forever, #2. Right on the money – however I think it’s overrated.

The Beatles/White Album – Revolution (rated #9. Guitar was at #10, Blackbird was #17, described as the perfect song)

Abbey Road – Here Comes the Sun (rated #14. The medley (they went with Because Her Majesty) was ranked #36)

Let it Be – Let it Be, rated #3.

The “fans” top ten was:
1. Let it Be
2. In My Life
3. Strawberry Fields Forever
4. Eleanor Rigby, Hey Jude
5. Here Comes the Sun
6. A Day in the Life
7. I Want to Hold Your Hand
8. Blackbird/Yesterday
9. Penny Lane
10. Can’t Buy Me Love/Help!/Nowhere Man/Something

Let me know if you want to know anything about the book, its lists, etc.

Discuss! *I need that rubbing hands together smiley again, Lila*

Yeh, it's fucking stupid, voting a cover as the best "Beatles" tune from the album. Why can't we just say that Helter Skelter is the best ever U2 song and be done with it?

Please Please Me is not just the best track from it's album, but one of the Beatles' best tunes full stop

Also, Let It Be ain't a shoo in to win the LET IT BE round. Look out for Universe and Get Back.

And PAST MASTERS II could be a ripper of a contest, with Revolution, Hey Jude, Universe and the over rated Paperback Writer battling it out.

A query: What's gonna happen to the tunes which appear both on a Past Masters and a proper Beatles album?

And another: Where does Real Love and Free As A Bird fit in to the equation?

I voted for You Never Give Me Your Money, just because I prefer full songs and the other parts of the medley

And Here Comes The Sun is the definitive Harrison song IMO, it is catchy as a disease and can be enjoyed on many levels (also like some diseases )

Don't you people have any appreciation for Carry That Weight? They way the album feels like it's hit a brick wall and then, "BOOOOOOOY, you've got CARRY THAT WEIGHT," just breaks out of said wall? Come on!
